he has to realize he won't be starting this year, since its two weeks to opening day, and subsequently he couldnt pick up an entirely new playbook and gain chemistry with receivers in that span of time.

If he gets cut now, he likely has to sign a multi year deal (possibly with a team he won't have a chance to start for down the road) where as this year, he backs up in NY for a cool million, has a chance to win a ring, and then becomes an FA next year where he might be the top QB on the market.... teams looking for a starter, not in the position to draft a future franchise guy might over pay for him...

    Including Brunell.

  3. Wait...so Sanchez has shown you nothing, but Clemens has shown you something? Seriously?

    Stupid Comment

He didn't make a big deal about the pay cut. He just clarified the bullshit the Rex and Tanny said which is that he would be on the team regardless. The fact is they brought him in the office and gave him an ultimatum "take 50% reduction or we will release you". So once again Rex talks out of his ass. As for Sanchez wtf has he done? The guy through 20 picks last year and still looks like a dear in headlights when throwing the ball. It is getting harder and harder to like the way the Jets in light of the complete bullshit they throw out to the media. Lastly Clemens wouldn't be a bad #2, clearly better then Brunell.

Rex and Tannenbaum have been in the league a while, they likely knew Clemens would take the pay cut. What else is he going to do at the end of August? He had no better option, the best he would do anywhere else in terms of money and position is no better than what they offered him. His contract was based on the thought that he would at least compete for the starting job, that's not the case anymore. These guys do this for a living.

Why? Because they found a way to spend less money on an easily replaceable talent?

this year IS different all the SB talk..hype by RR.. and Sanchez hasnt improved an ounce.....i couldnt be more dissapointed.....and i believe KC will get his chance or RR will go down with the ship

Yes, bad preseason = bust. Very nice. Not only that, but the whole ship is sinking and Rex is going down with it.

No one is saying the ship is sinking but lets face it, for a team that has one shit in the last 40 years they talk to much. For example when Brady said "i hate the Jets" the proper response from Rex should have been "I respect brady and he won 4 SBs so he can say whatever he wants". The fact is if the jets do suck this year they will be the biggest laughing stock of the league. All you guys that have a man crush on rex are just retarded. The guy hasn't won dick and him saying we were the best team that should be favored for the SB just comes off as stupid. As for Sanchez yeah it is preseason but he doesn't look good period. And anyone that thinks are present #2 is better than Clemens needs to lay off the pipe. Why don't the jets STFU and just win and thy will get their props. As for the front office moves, some of them are just puzzling. .

The whole team only took one shit in 40 years?

Why are you so concerned with what other people think of the team?

wow, with that response my only retort is don't join the debate team or enter the legal profession. Your acumen to rebuff an argument is simply awe shattering.
