the read option isnt a gimmick. the wildcat is. tebow was incredibly succesful in the read option last year. it also minimizes negative plays and turnovers

    yuuuuuuuuuuuup

The other team had way more talent. Put Arian Foster and JJ Watt on the Jets and the Jets win that game going away. And that's not even getting into the receivers.

Well no shit. If anything that went wrong last night worked it was the best call of the night.

Its Getting Harder and Harder To Look At A Game

I think Rex and Tanny are on the hot seat now. Never thought I would say that. Rex for this helter skelter offense and now the defense cannot stop anyone and can't get one sack a game. Sanchez is going backwards maybe its that Cougar Eva or a combination Sparano and Cavanaugh. But his throws are off target and I'ver seen a QB who has so many block passes. Roll him Sparano because I feel Sanchez is more accurate rolling out.

Tannenbaum because he has failed to bring in talent. He should have saw that RG is getting older and slowing down. Bradon Moore was just terrible last night. We have 1 wide receiver in Kerley and no TE's. Our linebackers are slow and can't get any pass rush. No depth.

I'm still fine with Rex as our head coach. He's made some mistakes over the last year and a half, but I believe in his ability to motivate and coach defense. The core issues here are bad personnel decisions (lack of talent), bad quarterbacking, and iffy offensive play calling. Fix those things (not an easy task, I know), and Rex will win plenty of games.

I get that Rex is competitive and instills that in the team. I get that he can't stand losing and so the Jets are never going to be a sad sack loser under him. The question for me though is whether he has the fundamentals down well enough to be a head coach in the NFL.

The two timeouts the Jets had to blow last night are a perfect example. It's like the offensive unit was winging it at the time and nobody had a firm grasp of where they were flying. That's on Sparano and likely Sanchez. I'm pretty sure on the second of those timeouts Sanchez was the guy on the field who should not have been there.

I think Rex doesn't understand the role of a head coach, which is to coach the coaches, inspire the team and make sure everything runs well. Instead, because he is a great defensive coach, and nobody is going to convince me he's not, he winds up with his head down in the defensive game plan and lets the other side just run unimpeded, unwatched and unchecked.

Too often I look over at Rex on the sidelines when the offense is on the field and he looks like a spectator more than a coach. When the defense is on the field he's 100% in the game and when the offense is on the field he's just watching it all happen.

i love it when "fans" opine that one of the best coaches in the NFL "doesn't understand the role of a head coach" absofreakinglutely hilariously clueless comments from fans on a tuesday morning after a tough loss to an undefeated team that is likely going to the SB. thanks for the laughs.

Hell, you take JJ Watt out of the game and the Jets win. Watt single handedly accumulated for a 13 pt swing between the teams.

    - Tipped ball at the line at the end of the half which turned into the 86 yd INT: We would've at least gotten a FG on that drive, if not a TD. Instead the Texans scored a FG from the INT. Result was a 6 pt swing

    - Tipped ball in the RZ in the second half when the Jets were marching: if Watt doesn't get his hands on it Schilens makes the easy grab and we get 7 pts instead of 3.

    - Jets are on FG range but Watt sacks Sanchez on 3rd down taking us away from FG range. We should've gotten 3 pts from there.
