Well since it would be hard to get much worse only left is 3-13 or 2-14 or 1-15 or 0-16 then your post makes some sense unless you are betting on future downward spirals
Yeah, it's turning out to be a nice crib! It's located in St. Augustine, which is south of Jacksonville; in fact, it's near the World Golf Village. last year when they were building it, Coles used to use a helicopter to see how the progress was going from above. I remember when I caught up with him after he had left the Jets, I asked him as a fan and not a sports person, "Why did you leave my team when you knew that they would have paid you soon?".... He just said that the money that he was getting was right there and then and too hard to turn down. A lot of people here in Jax remember him from his days at Ribault High and practically every one that I had spoken to that knows him in one way or another, knew about his personal issues from when he was young. I had a talk with his mom a few weeks before Thanksgiving because we wanted to do some things for him, and she told me how close they were and how his coming out on Oprah had really helped him deal with some real demons.
Yeah man I watched that show of Oprah, real sad to see some of the jerks in this worls. On a side note though dide he mention anything about Chad Pennington?? If so, then what was it??
Coles has dealt with alot of shit. I'd be so happy for him to succeed with us for the rest of his career.
Poor Laveranues. Just him an' his mansion. Hopefully the money he's making will be enough to keep him playing.
I wonder which QB he uses for that, Chad, Brooks, or Patrick Ramsey? Or maybe he already imported Kellen from NCAA Football to get a jump on the season ahead.
I can defiinitely go with the hermit thing. I love to be alone, and I covet my solitude. Still, 25,0000 sq. ft.?! Can't you just build something nice and accomodating instead of some huge monster with dead space? I never could understand the need for that sort of thing, but maybe with Coles it carries a symbolic purpose. Getting lost in there, so to speak. Who knows, I'm not a shrink; but some things carry transparencies. Going public with the molestation thing often helps people to heal. I wish him the best with that, and the pox on anyone who pisses on it. I don't hold anything sacred to speak of, but things that affect people in the only physical and emotional life they know, there are some lines that ought not to be crossed. That's one of them. Hopefully he'll seek the company of his friends when he "needs" the company. The downside to self-isolation is occasional bouts of loneliness, but ask anyone who is possessive of their alone time and they'll often tell you it's worth it when faced with the alternative. I hope he has a good year - for him and for us.
I too covet my solitude. I'm my own best roommate. I also like to entertain and have my buddies over the pad and host the occasional get together whenever I want. I'm sure Coles is going to have mad parties at his place.
Take a look at the pics of his House and you won't feel so sad for him anymore. I feel bad for laveranues for what he went through but when he says people are "mean" he can addd himself to the list. Maybe now he's a changed man since he went public w/ his abuse but his first time here w/ the Jets he was a complete jerk to alot of people so you can't be "mean" to other people then get saddended when other folks do it to you.
If McCareins could develop or if we could get a legit #2 receiver that would reduce all the double teams he has to face.
he is a legit #2, he struggled last year as did just about everyone last year but let's not forget what he did for us in '04 where down the stretch he was more like a #1 WR than a #2. Every time we needed a big catch late in a game it went to Justin.
Well, that goes without saying, but now that he's got what he's got, it is what it is. One obstacle that always gets shoved aside in light of the larger picture is the mangling of his own name. I mean, can't he do something about that?! It doesn't even make PHONETIC sense for the love of Laverneus (Lavernaeus - variant). Betcha thought I was gonna say Pete. Hehehe.
