The jets options in the free agency to get another hb (which we will definitely need badly if we lose Jones) is rather limited.

Of all the free agent HBs I think Chester Taylor would be the best bet since hes will rested from playing behind AP, he has been quite well when he plays, can catch/run, and he played with Rex for a few years on the Ravens. Problem is his salary is so high that its virtually impossible for the jets to grab him in the free agency.

Interestingly enough, I just noticed that Lendale White is a restricted free agent. And his salary last year was crap 960k. Hes young and showed some potential before Chris Johnson stole all the glory. Sounds like someone the Jets could get, although I feel like White is very similiar to Greene in play style.

If we resign an old back TJ has earned the right to be that back.

Sadly I think TJ may have run off that cliff this year too.

If we didnt have Leon coming back from injury I might be interested. But our running game is more smash mouth and LT just isnt really that type of player.

It sure looked like it at the end of the season and during the postseason, unfortunately.

Supposedly LT is refusing to take a pay cut in San Diego, I'm assuming he's not interested in a 1-2 million dollar deal

I love LT, but he's clearly lost a step. I just can't see him being that big of an improvement to our roster, so I'd rather not deal with it

I feel like it'd be a waste of money. TJ has alot more to bring to the table, hes been to a superbowl, I dont think Lt has.

LT is still pretty good. Earlier this year he was a little banged up and the SD line is horrible at run-blocking. Later he started doing better but their line is still one of the worse at run-blocking.

Sproles gets his only because he's super-short and super-quick. Put LT behind our line and he has the same if not better numbers than TJ.

That said, you might as well keep TJ. Plus TJ has better locker room chemistry.

Im curious how people would feel about the Jets picking up Lendale White as a RFA.

His current salary is low enough that its doable (960k), and I doubt hes going to want to stay with the Titans with the emergence of Chris Johnson.

The guy has had good numbers (outside of last year where he never got the ball), hes young and the jets could sure use the depth @ HB.

Then again I could see Rex pursusing Le'Ron Mcclain from Baltimore if TRich retires, but I doubt Baltimore would let him go easily.

We don't need LT. Not a bit. And the prospect of not bringing TJ back is just plain stupid. Look at his numbers this year! He's worth the money he'd be getting next year.

He's done! Been done for 2 years. I don't know why other people can't see past the TV commercials and dance videos...

I knew this would be posted when I seen it on ESPN this morning. Why get rid of Jones to sign LT?

Getting rid of Jones would be 100% due to salary demands.

Under Thomas Jones current contract he is due 5.8 million dollars for next season.

If he isnt willing to take a MASSIVE paycut, odds are he is going elsewhere.

And if TJ goes elsewhere the Jets need to replace him. And since we are limited on draft picks odds are we go to free agency.

And the options in the free agency are very limited due to final 4 status.

LT would be cut, so the final four rules would not apply to him.
