Did the Ravens or Falcons go undefeated last year - no . They certianly had their share of issues . Lets see how this all plays out before we leap to judgements
Badmoo, this board really needed that analysis man. Now that the Sanchez hangover is setting in, folks are finally understanding where this team AND its CS really is at. I just hope this OC doesn't turn Mark Sanchez into Joey Harrington. The kid needs to sit and watch a few games. We're not going to the post season anyway so why not showcase Clemens for a game or two just to let Markie know he doesn't shit apple pies either..
^ Yeah and the first time we get shut out becuase the run gets stuffed and we're afraid to pass - all the critics will be on here saying - oh we're too conserative. Bottom line to be successful in the NFL you need to run and pass.
Your point being what? Clemens can't pass or the Jets can't run unless Sanchez is in the game. If this team gets shutout, and that could happen with or without Sanchez in the game, it won't be because we don't pass or don't run enough. It will be because of piss poor gameplanning on both sides of the ball by this CS. This team will only go as far as this CS can take them. So far, Ryan is more Foghorn Leghorn than Weeb Ewbank. Time for that to change..
So far the only gamplan that could be questioned in my mind was the Miami game. Nothing wrong with the gameplan yesterday - just bad execution. And sitting Sanchez now accomplishes what ?? Does it punish him for playing badly , Does it make him learn quicker by sitting . The only way to get experience is to play. And unlike previous seasons I don't think the CS is a limiting factor on this teams success. This team needs to gel and limit mistakes - but it has the potential to be a quality team.
Yes Moo, a DS, and an original....... though the last couple years i have toned it down cause the team does have an aggressive style off the field and is still trying to sniff out the right combos. rewind to the years of hess and gutman and the team couldn't make a good football decision if there life depended on it - aside from parcells. jil
IF sanchez throws 2 tds and goes over 250 yards...youre going to start thinking differently again about him.
My Darkside opinion is exactly what it was before the season. We are rebuilding on both sides of the ball. New QB, new WR, new RB and on D we are installing a completely new D. We won a couple of games against teams that might not be that good and lost a couple of games to teams that might not be that good. We lost to a very good NO team.
I agree with most of what you said, an also do not think sitting Sanchez NOW is the way to go. But as someone mentioned the David Carr experience, there is in fact a downside to leaving a young qb in to fail and fail and fail yet again. I just don't think we are there yet, so we can put that speculation aside for now. But make no mistake about it, many here supportive of Sanchez today will change their tune if in fact he continues the poor play next week, and more so if the next game after that, and more so etc... Let's hope that doesn't happen, obviously.
The David Carr scenario was vastly different in that his Oline was horrible and he was taking a beating physically. Sanchez has not taken too many big hits yet this year.
