I'm going back to the weeds until this place gets over Glenn a little but you can Google right now raheem morris head coach and scour any site, Twitter included, no one else is mentioned other than the Titans. There is no 2nd team and no way he gets hired unless the Titans are lost.

We are just making stuff up at this point, or seeing a Twitter post from Schadam Klefter and eating it up.

I haven’t seen one article that states an established DC is interested in us. I’ve seen plenty that say established DC’s would be a good hire, namely Cimini stating Martindale would be a good hire, but nothing saying Martindale is interested in coming here or that he accepted an interview request.

    Apparently you didn’t read it:

"Underrated name that hasn't been tied to the Jets, but I'd keep an eye on as DC: Wink Martindale," Hughes reports. "That would make a ton of sense, and I think it would work really, really well. Instant boost for the defense."

Seems like you're the one rapid-fire responding to everyone. It would make sense since you were riding the Good Shill Lollypop all season. Enjoy your season tix, LMAO

When people respond to you, you respond back. That's how a message board works. When you're reading the website and someone replies to you, you get a pop up notification. You click on it, it takes you to the post, you respond.

Weird that you're monitoring my posts but missed the entire post in the Glenn thread about how this season was a disaster and next year could be just as much of a disaster without the right moves from the coach re: his staff.

And sick burn making fun of someone that goes to football games with his dad and best friends of 30+ years? Not sure what that was supposed to accomplish.

So Cimini says there’s no ties to Martindale, Rosenblatt mentions on a podcast there’s mutual interest. Here’s your reality check, there’s 6 teams right now looking for a HC that in turn will be hiring a DC as well. There are 8 teams in total including us that are looking for a DC. We are without a doubt the worst destination for job security and without a doubt we have the worst roster to work with currently. Glenn couldn’t even do better than Steve Wilks when he had a clean slate last year, so please tell me besides a Rosenblatt comment how you think we’re going to attract a top level DC?

It's an assistant coach position anyway and Martindale hasn't even been in the NFL for 2 years. Let's not act like he's in a position to pick and choose much.

"Top level DC" is something that's a matter of opinion anyway. There are many position coaches in this league likely dying for the opportunity to become a coordinator with the Jets or anyone. Some of them will be "top level" at the job and some wont.

then you have guys fired at other places, like a Raheem Morris, that would take a coordinator job.

its a weird argument that the Jets wont be able to find a coordinator

Genuine question... where did Cimini say there's no ties?

Cimini said this when Hughes brought it up weeks ago I believe. Since then the mutual interest was reported. And go back to one of my other posts... Hughes is a Wink guy. He was clearly one of his in's with the Giants when he started covering them hence why he's always cheerleading for him.

Jack Del Rio? The former Jaguars/Raiders head coach who was most recently (until 2023) the Washington Redskins defensive coordinator. He coached Glenn in Jax

Wink would actually be a good hire here. We don’t really have much of a pass rush and need to manufacture it. He’s good at that.

I don’t know this pissing and moaning about “top level” defensive coordinators.

Again, the Jets are just not nearly as toxic as you guys are making it seem and the names mentioned aren’t all time greats. If they were, they’d be head coaches.

JJ snd WMD are athletic guys, there's no way they just got terrible overnight. Wink is known for mixing up looks to get pressure and I feel like that would definitely maximize both guys' talent. I do worry that it's predicated on strong man coverage though. We're gonna be relying on AZ after half a rookie year across from Stephens who was good but as of right now, that's an outlier season. And then you have to reel Brownlee in. Not saying it can't be done, but with a Wink system it HAS to be done.

I worry about his system. I think modern successful defenses in the NFL are more zone oriented and run a 3-3-5 set.

I’m not sure Martindales 2011 style is the way to go anymore

Just too many flags being thrown to run man / pressure D

I like Leonard and Harris because it would be nice to have a solid candidate for replacing Glenn already in the building and familiar with the team.

Also our d couldn’t get any worse if we brought in Harris (David Hitman)
