I know, but he's not someone people tend to bring up when talking about clutch players.

Did you know that Todd Zeile has the 4th highest Slugging percentage in LCS history. People can make stats mean anything.

I guess that guy must wave that Yankee hat around every Met home game, because I hear it all the time. You really can't get around the fact that Met fans are obsessed with the Yankees,or should I say, jealous.

C'mon man. You know that certainly isn't the only time there was a "Yankees suck" chant at Shea. Actually,it happens quite often. And I'm sure it's not always provoked by a Yankee fan waving a hat. I just find it funny that we hear a lot about "typical Yankee fans" from the Met fans,Yet,we don't give a crap about the Mets except for the days we play them.

And I'd swear that I said the typical Yankee fan, and that not every Yankee fan isn't like that. But I guess those typical ones tend to be illiterate, or have selective hearing (reading).

Dude, you need to relax. I don't know if you picked up the ribbing in that, but in any case it does not make me a disgrace. If I seriously offended you by taking a jab at your beloved team, I apologize. And in regards to the comments in the Dave Wright thread, the "idiot Met fans" I was referring to I already explained in that post.

    Im really getting pissed off...

We need lou piniella running this team, joe is getting to old and too soft... I don't want to hear we have veterans and blah blah, every man, at any age needs motivation, joe is too easy on these guys, and letting play their own game, instead of bringing the game out of them.

He needs to get on their asses both hitters and pitchers and give them hell to wake them up... Motivation is the only thing a player understands when it comes to getting out of a slump or playing poorly, not its ok we will get them next time..

Again joe has given us great years, but he has gotten to damn comfortable and set in his ways, on top of that he is alot older and getting softer, he is not hungry no more, we need LOU PINIELLA...

I agree about Joe, but I'm not sure if I'd want Piniella. He's a good in-game guy, but I fear he is too close to George and the Tampa guys. Last thing we need is Tampa coming to power and ruining the team again. When Torre is gone, I want Cashman and Michael to pick the guy that they want, so everyone is on the same (and correct) page. If that man is Piniella, then I'm all for bringing him aboard.

I'm not going to argue that Torre might be too soft, but considering the amount of stars on the roster and the players with great loyalty to Torre, I wonder if someone as direct and in your face as Pinella is a good idea for the Yanks.

$1 billion..... I knew steinbrenner had money, but wasn't the richest owner... But c'mon $1 billion annually watching something you love... He is the richest owner in the world.

    Understand?

    You have a point.

What im saying is, steinbrenner is investing alot of money to his team... We haven't won in 5 years. Piniella was a yankee ball player, he was once our manager, he knows how to win..., and all of our star players are baseball players too, how do you think they gt this good or great? By managers letting them know what's up... Piniella is not going to change his style, but be a bit more calmer. I think he is smart enough to know how to act toward certain players, younger players like the devil rays.. In your face type manager, and the Yankees motivational and not in your face type manager.

Roger I definately understand your point and argument. To be perfectly honest, I'd be a lot more concerned about Pinella if he didn't have a relationship with ARod already.

There's no reason to panic about the Yankees. A .500 record is actually pretty good considering the way we've played so far. We just need to get the starting pitching to find some consistency and we'll be golden. The offense will hit it's groove, I can promise you that.
