Typical yankees fan response. Mets fans have no right to discuss whether or not Jeter gets more credit then he deserves because unlike the yankees, the mets didn't win a million titles before we were born.
Are you really going to make me post our original core players who won us 4 titles? I thought so.... You metsfan should be kissing our ass, for giving your loser players and some drug addicts jobs.... Steinbrenner rules, wilpon sucks, plain and simple... Mets Will Always Say Next Year, and yankees will always have a chance to win a title, thats life, deal with it. Sucks being mets right? But somebody has to root for them... Hahahahaha.
Whatever the times are changing. Suge Knight had it all, Snoop, Dre, 2 Pac. Now he is dead broke. The Yanks are over.
Are you really comparing suge knight to the yankees hahahaahahahahaahhahahaaa...... What a pathetic attempt...
I think that he was referencing homegrown products like Jeter Williams Pettitte Rivera Posada Mendoza Spencer Hernandez Etc... If you want to make an arguement that the Yankees are idiots for aquiring players like Kevin Brown than I'm not going to stop you. But how can you fault them for trading David Wells for Roger Clemens? How was it wrong for them to trade Roberto Kelly for Paul O'Neill? How can you fault Brian Cashman for signing the best pitcher on the market when he signed Mike Mussina. Did you have a problem with the Mets signing the best closer on the market when they got Billy Wagner? Your arguement makes no sense to me.
HomeGrown talent on the 06 Mets like Beltran Nady Floyd Delgado Loduca Matsui Wagner Pedro Glavine Trachsel Zambrano Bradford Julio Sanchez Franco Valentin Woodward Chavez ????
the problem the yankees have now, is that none of thosr guys came through the system in the last what 8-10 years, it's what's been killing them them, they are raping the system for good players, and now they don't have the players to make trades they want.
Actually now they do again. They definately went through a rough patch but now they have really highly regarded young prospects in Hughes, Vecchionacci, Cox, DeSalvo and a few others. Plus Wang and Cano, who are pretty much off limits at this point (they're too critical to this year's team success.) Thankfully Cashman seems to be in charge again and last offseason refused to give up young talent for veterans like Torii Hunter or Juan Pierre. Hopefully he continues that trend.
What are you talking about? The Yankees have one of the strongest minor league systems in MLB. They could've gotten Beckett and Lowell if they wanted, Florida called Cashman before he called Boston. But Cashman isn't parting with anyone. He is in the process of building a powerhouse system that will be absolutely loaded on every level within the next year.
Oh no, you had go and say something optimistic about the Yankees farm system. Let the bitching and whining from Mets' fans begin...
Yeah like Beltran would've signed with the Yanks for less before signing with the Mets. Boy you Yank fans sure are a gullible bunch..
It's sad how everything has to degenerate into "all you yankee fans..." or "all you met fans...". I mean once in awhile its fun to post some stereotype or dumb comment about the opposing team but almost every baseball thread seems to go straight to the petty name calling now.
Well none of us know for sure, but since every single baseball writer I've seen has mentioned both, I'll have to go with that.
It used to be a fun rivalry on here. Then newer posters started to join, and then it just became stupid.
Exactly. In moderation stuff like the black and white cookie or posting Soul-glo pictures is pretty funny, but when that's all it becomes and any attempt to actually discuss baseball is lost in a stream of 'yankees rule!' 'mets rule!' it's really quite pointless.
Well I did see FOUR since high school. That's twice as much as the Mets won in their entire history. You know, because 2 times 2 is four.
