Awards mean squat...Take a look at the Heisman winners:

    2003 Jason White
    2000 Chris Weinke
    1996 Danny Wuerffel
    1994 Rashaan Salaam
    1992 Gino Torretta

Those are just a few off the top of my head. This is the NFL not NCAA.

Are U saying that the NYJs are really not a FB team looking for the best players but instead is a social organization formed to assist down & outers with good character?

Well anybody who thought that he would make it thru the entire season with us was just kidding themselves once he is "traded" then untraded. Everybody should have seen this coming once he was returned to us after Suggs flunked our MDs test

This doesn't make since. Hank Slopeat is the main reason why Kelly Holcomb threw 429 yards against the Steelers in the 2002 playoffs. I don't think he's improved very much.

But I do find it amusing to see the parade of Herm/Bradway draft picks/signings out the door. The writing was on the wall for Strait after the attempted traded.

Strait, T. Johnson, Maddox, Dreesen, Snell, Cavka(I think he was released), Bollinger, and I know I missed a few. If I was Robertson, Blaylock, A. Jones, Miller, Coleman (Safety), I wouldn't be feeling to secure with my position on the team. Mangini and Co. are cleaning house.

Poteat is not a good cornerback, but with that being said he is extemely familiar with the system that the Jets, Pats and steelers use. You don't have to be a great player to excel in this systems you just have to do what is asked of you. Strait was not fast enough to play corner and well undersized to play safety. I don't get the impression our coaching staff ever liked him since they were willing to trade him for a scrub like Lee Suggs.

All are not going to make the pro bowl. They are all marginal players (Decent Back-ups).

I guess I understand him being cut, he never really stood out on the field.

What I dont understand is why even start him? Was Coleman that bad (rhetorical question)? And then from starter to cut in 2 weeks? Something had to have happened in the locker room. He must have said something to piss off Mangini.

I think im gonna have to go champ on this one, what was the chance of him really sticking around much longer then the end of this year. I just hope he is just as tough on his draft picks as he is on Herms picks. Like if schlegal or Smith turn out to suck I hope he can realize he made a bad pick and cut ties, sumthin Herm/Bradway were not able to do.

confusing...maybe its because we have so much depth in the defensive backfield?

Because he's too slow to play corner at the starting level. And his recovery speed is atrocious.

You should be happy he is a cover two CB. He was cut because he is too slow to play man but he is good in underneth zone coverage, that is why herm drafted him. He is a good zone player (thats why they moved him to safety) but too slow to play deep zone coverage

I thought so too, but we scrapped the Tampa Cover-Who the same year we drafted him so who knows?
