That doesn't make the rehab any less tough. Guys a competitor. Sure the money is great but don't underestimate what that guy has gone through.

Look, it wasnt a serious injury, and fans are excited about Clemens and they should be. You cant bash people for how they feel. Crowds are always silent when injuries happen, then they get up and cheers are made. Chad limped off on his own. So whos to say they were cheering the injury.

Fans sometimes clap when a guy gets up off of the field after being hurt. That's not what this was.

Like it or not, everyone watching that game say the Jets fans cheer when Pennington got hurt. Cheering for the backup is the same as cheering for the starters injury.

And let's not get all crazy with this Clemens. He ain't exactly Johnny Unitus. Simms, on Francesa's morning show, said that nothing about Clemens wows him and at this stage, Pennington is the far superior player. You would think the guy was Peyton Manning in waiting the way some are talking about him here. He's no given.

I cursed alot under my breath, but I clapped as he hopped off the field. Then I heard the people around the stadium cheer for Clemens. I was disgusted. I know from my long years of being a Jets fan that that for the most part, Jets fans are morons, but that was one of the lowest, unclassiest (spell check on that), crudest, and most uncalled for things I had ever heard in the NFL. And Pennington played well that day. That was the first time I almost got into a fight with another Jets fan at a game. I completely lost, and flipped out on some guy in front of me.
IMPO, I don't see much in Clemens, decided both that the season was over when Chad went down, and I never want to see Clemens on that field in the regular season again short of being up 40 points.

i sit in 328, waay up at the top, which is a pretty rowdy few rows up there...and I gotta say, no one up there made a sound, everyone was kind of like "oh Shit, not tagain", but. the lower half of the section, was definitely cheering wildly, at seemed moreso to see Clemens than cheering for Chad being hurt...........in either case it was wrong

what I think is weird, and I guess I'm guilty of it too now, is that everyone denies cheering for this, yet there were a lot of people cheering

Well my perception of it was the cheer started as Penny was getting sacked. No way anybody would of known he was hurt at that point. So my guess would of been lots of Pat fans cheering mixed with Jet fans yelling in outrage over how badly we were playing. When Penny got up, went down and got up again trying to get to the sideline I clapped for him.

I think all the 'analyst' just followed Phil Simms lead. They all watch it on TV ya know. From the poll, most of us didn't cheer or only cheered in support of players, not cause Chad was injured. Only a few losers cheered at the thought that Penny was hurt. I think the media again is doing Jet fans and New Yorkers a disservice, by painting too broadly with thier dirty brush....

When It happened I yelled something like "Oh F**K thats gotta hurt"!!

I'm currently out of my Rugby team due to a Knee injury and know the pain chad was going through on the Hit, Twist, and crumple that was going on.

Anyone who would cheer for another human getting hit and hurt like that is a sick SOB. (this is directly pointed to the 1 person who answered the poll he was cheering Chad's injury)

From what I heard from the TV was cheering as Kellen was comming in.

I think it was overblown by the announcers. I was a quite cheer. You could tell it was not all of the fans but a few misguided people.

I was there, the biggest cheer was for Clemens, not really Chad's injury. I think it's being blown up bigger than it was, but that doesn't excuse any "Jet fans" who were cheering the injury. Any injury, as you said.

Watched on TV with my wife. And we were both sitting there, watching it all play out. No sound. Then I said, this is so obvious. When Clemens ran onto the field, I thought we might have seen the last of the Chad Pennington era. Thanfully, he came back and played great. Whomever our QB is, thats the guy I will be rooting for.

It seemed more a cry of outrage when Pennington struggled off the field.

This is way bigger than it should be. Most of the fans who did anything were drunk and happy Clemens was coming in. And there weren't even that many fans who did it, just more people were silent.

To Quote the Very Unpopular coach of the New York Jets Joe Walton. After his last game as a Jet Head coach. It was against Buffalo and he was spit on and had beer thrown on him (personally that was when I was embarassed to be a Jet fan, Walton was a lot of things but no coach ever coached a team and wanted it to lose, no one deserved that). Walton said New York fans want a winner and I didnt give them one...end of story.Walton had class if nothin else. But it has always been that way Hit a home run we love ya, strike out and your a bum...Welcome to New York Baby

Watched on TV: Cheered in support of Penny fighting to get off field

At first, I was in shock, but then when I seen said struggling, but limping off of the field on his own, I just stood up in my room and started clapping. I was happy he was able to get up, and then I started to clap even more when Chad came back into the game.

You can believe the claps he got from me when he led the offense down into the end zone. That's the sign of a fighter.
