McVay needs to get back to McVay football. He’s become enamored with throwing the ball down field out of the shotgun. Do what’s worked for your teams since you became a head coach with an offensive line that’s been together for a while blocking well in the zone scheme. Put Stafford under center and run the ball and roll some play action passes. He can let Stafford be Stafford at times but the past two weeks, before games were out of reach, he’s been putting Stafford in the shotgun and throwing the ball three straight times. That’s not McVay football.
I think we're seeing that the Lions are not entirely responsible for Staffords overall career failings--lots of panic with him in tough situations although he's had his heroic moments.
