What's funny is you pat fans see no problem with your team breaking the NFL rules. I get that! no morals, no conscience, fine! But this thread is not about you!

I started this thread to see how Jet fans feel about " IF our team did what your team did!" And you try to sabbatage it. Please leave!

nobody ever said stealing signs was illegal. it's using VIDEO TAPE to do it that is illegal. of course they try to steal signs, but i don't think they're using video tape, especially after the multiple warnings SENT TO THE ENTIRE LEAGUE.

only BB was arrogant enough to do it.

Other: Players change teams all the time, sometimes the terminology or the signaling is not changed from year to year. It cannot be said that we set up a camera ala Home land security style and feed current signals into the huddle to run plays that either go away from where they know the defense is funneling to. That’s the real injustice of this current situation. If they get a full complement of signals against run plays and then against the pass play's then the can do what Belli chicken is well known for; having formations look like one play and after the snap they turn out to be a different play! So you set up a certain formation , you get the defensive signal that lets you know how they will defend it, then you send in a play that exploits the defenses set up . But remember this is not chance, they know BEFORE HAND what the linebackers will be doing ; what the safeties will be doing (Staying or moving back) that’s why whats happening right now is a major violation and should be severly punished!!!!!!!

I never said the pats shouldnt be punished. I think they should be fined and lose a second and fifth dp.

My beef is jet fans thinking this had a bearing on the game. The jets were not prepared for this game at all. You guys should be crucifying Mangini for this pathetic showing.

I think this thread again is misleading. Sure the Jets probalby try to steal signs, like every team in the NFL does. They just don't do it by breaking NFL rules regarding videotaping. It's not illegal to steal signs.

Sounds about right. All teams try to get signs. The Pats took it to a new level that was not right IMO.

I'm sure we, liek everyone else, look over at the other sideline and try to decipher what they're doing... However, we have to figure it out on the fly, we don't record it and have hard physical images of the signs to review and match to Polaroids of the plays.... It's as simple as that...

Everyone steals signs.... Not everyone RECORDS them...

If they do, not to the blatant capacity the Patriots do. Picking up signs off the top of your head isn't cheating, and there may be more grey areas in between. But the what the Pats did was clearly crossing the line.

I put an edit in my first post to clarify this, Sorry I can't change the poll. I meant the jets breaking NFL rules like the Pats did.

Everyone tries to decode what the other team is doing. It is just a matter of how blatant you are in doing it. If another team is sloppy with their signals then any smart team will try to take advantage of this. But infiltrating the opposing teams sidelines with agents and cameras is ridiculous. I don't think the Jets have done this.

Maybe the Jets steal signals but I don't think they RECORD them. I didn't vote on the poll because it was missing the crucial component of hightech devices being used to steal signals which is really what this is all about.

I for one believe that the minority of NFL teams break the rules in order to get an edge. Bottom line - Eric Mangini does not break the rules - he does not illegally tape other coaches. I believe he is different than Bellicheck - he has integrity and sees the big picture of repecting the game. BB in his mind is beyond the game.
