I think if he goes 0-4 you can say goodbye to the season whether they sit him or not. I still hold firm that Geno Smith, to me, doesn't look ready. Of course, who am I really...we will all learn soon enough. Who knows...maybe he comes out and blows the world up. Personally, if this guy is any less effective than Andrew Luck, RGIII or Russel Wilson I'm going to be VERY disappointed.
The curse of Hobbes strikes again. I was afraid he would finally get something right. But he continues his amazing streak of wrong predictions. Off the top of my head I recall Hobbes guaranteeing: Romney would win a landslide when everyone knew it would be the opposite. The Jets would never get anything more than a 2nd round pick for Revis. The Jets would not draft a QB in the this years draft. The Jets wiil win 11+ games this year with Sanchez as their QB and Sanchez would be the starter in week 1. There are many other wrong Hobbes predictions. These are just off the top of my head. But what is remarkable is not that Hobbes spams this board with continuous nonsense but that I have never seen Hobbes right about anything. Lots of people are annoying or bad posters but Hobbes simply takes it to a new level. He is arguably the worst poster on the internet. Certainly the worst poster on any board I have ever seen. I was scared that finally Hobbes was going to be right about something and Sanchez might start opening day. Hobbes being right about a guarantee or prediction is so out of line with reality who knows what kind of catastrophic effects it could do to the universe. All that being said I thought there was some noticeable improvement in Sanchez this pre-season in mechanics and in how he played. What was ironic is that he has spent his entire career being one of the least hit QBs in football, avoiding hits and rarely ever taking a hit while throwing the ball. Preferring to lie down and take a sack rather than put his body at risk. Then he gets injured actually showing some toughness taking a hit while completing a pass. It was one of the better plays we have ever seen him make. To bad he could not have shown that kind of effort before.
Two things give it zero credibility, Mehta himself and the very shit rag he writes for. No matter the source, known or unknown.
You cant be serious? You expect him to play as well as probably the best trio of rookie QBs in 20 years? And you're leading the start Simms train? WHat kind of expectations do you have for him? Jeez.
ok lets get stucked with sanchez 1 more season and not have any progress. I never seen a QB so loved after fail so hard. Seriously i tought the tape shows different skillsets and i rather go with young blood that can learn.
The problem is that people fail to mention this. Geno, based on what was shown, is not as mature as RG3, Russel Wilson, and Andrew Luck. Dude actually thought he would be number 1, didnt get it and started crying. Even walked out but was "forced" to come back during the draft. Even though in many eyes the leading QB stinks, as a rookie he thought he was better than the vet. Refusing to go to "handband" camp for free.. Then training camp comes around and this forums blows him up to then see him fall absolutely flat on his ass against a vanilla defense. Dude head is too gassed up and has that ME attitude already. Yet based on this hes the second coming of jesus still to many. I hope im wrong because seriously, at the end of the day, I want the JETS too win. But I CURRENTLY dont understand the HYPE. Sorry.
fuck that, 4500 yards 50 tds 1 int 95% comp or this guys a bust and that pick better be a tip drill and the 5% he throws incomplete better be drops also he needs to get to work on curing cancer and get those starving Africans some food. that's how you set the bar high:up:
I don't agree with the decision but another part of me doesn't mind because it allows Geno to gain some experience.
