If we come away with one of the many guards in this draft with talent, Quentin Moses (whose fallen hard), a DE, and maybe a RB...I'll be happy.

I agree with the idea that we need beef on both sides of the ball, but if Moses falls to us and we don't grab him I'm going to be very dissapointed.

Tannenbaum has said he wants to have his team as set as possible going into the draft so he can just take the BPA. It's too early to tell because for all we know a position of weakness now could be addressed in free agency and not be a factor come April. Correct me if I'm wrong but at this point on the calendar I don't think Mawae had been cut yet and if someone had posted saying we'd be drafting a center in the 1st round you'd think they were crazy.

I only need beef on the defensive side of the ball. Terdell Sands for the rotation would be nice. I don't need a big offensive line, I need a smart, well conditioned, versatile one. I'm looking for Eric Steinbach, who can play some tackle in a pinch and is athletic enough to get out on the sweeps. Bulk is highly overrated.

Doesn't a big OG go against the philosiphy of this line- i.e. smaller and more athletic?

I think if you look at Mangini along with Schottenheimer his preference has been to run the ball behind a strong offensive line. This to me is no more telling than in the red zone, where Barlow and Houston would pound the ball until the opposition relented.

Now unfortunately we didn't have the players to do that between the 20's, but I believe that this is the overall philosopy...and that doesn't translate to drafting a WR early on, but building up the trenches, and getting a guy that can pound the ball between the taclkes.

Beef up the right side of the line and I bet Leon Washington will have a breakout season...
