Thats the goal. The bench mark to your so called better team with AR is a putrid 5. So don’t tell me on one breath we were better before with AR and now the benchmark is 12 with a quote less talented team. If we win 6-7 on year one we are clearly a better team than last year and then build from there.

Just to put it in perspective…this is a team that has only reached double digit wins a handful of times in our 60+ year history

We need to win 12 games with a new coaching staff and GM to prove that the Aaron Rodgers experience here was a failure? When he had a combined 6 wins here and cost us draft picks to get and draft picks to get his friend here when we were a game away from elimination.

Boy is that a dumbass marker.

Except we were better (more talented) with AR (and Davante Adams) than we are right now. Now if you're going to tell me that Aaron Glenn (and staff) are so much better than Ulbrich (and staff) to make up for the player talent discrepancy? You might be right. As I said earlier, I have no opinion on whether the new coaching staff is better than the old coaching staff (although I find it hard to believe a staff could be worse).

All that said, the point is to have a team that is a perennial Super Bowl contender. Not a "successful" team because it got to six wins instead of four. With a little luck, I could coach this team to five wins - that's not an indicator of improvement or success.

No, regardless of how many wins we have next year (zero to seventeen), the Aaron Rodgers/Saleh/Ulbrich/Douglas experience was a failure. Nothing will change that. Now you may place more or less of the blame on one or more of those individuals than I might (and I assume you do).

I think I remember you saying that Randall Cobb and Tim Boyle were great signings because they were coaches on the field. And this was after they were gone from the team. You're not qualified to call a benchmark.

By the way both Engstrand and Fields commented during OTAs about Breece Hall's pass catching abilities.

If you remember during Hackett's failed tenure it took him until nearly the end of the season to acknowledge Breece Hall can catch the football, he was pulling him out of the game to put an "H-back" who would trip over their own feet, or replacing Hall with Michael Carter in passing situations

Also, Rodgers would audible at the line and it would always be a boring off-tackle run to Hall right into the ass of his lineman. Because thats how they played football in 2008...

I think Hall is going to have a big season and is an example of a guy who will emerge in 2025 and dispel the notion that this team is "less talented."

This is spot on. The running game was predictable as hell, and most plays were always telegraphed ahead of time by the players on the field and the position of the QB, either behind center or shot gun. Not leveraging the dual threat of Hall and Allen with both the pass and the run was dismally bad. There is no way in hell the game plan and execution of the offense could be worst this year. None.

I seem to remember me saying they were great signings because they would serve to teach the other players how to run Green Bay's offense and they were free because Rodgers took less money so the Jets would sign them. Do you feel "free" was too expensive?

Actually, I'm butthurt because the team has sucked for the entirety of the time I've been a fan (since 1984), except for maybe two seasons ... and ... the primary reason has been because we've never had a great QB and a great coach at the same time ... and we finally had a great QB and got rid of him because the media convinced Woody (and a portion of the fanbase) that he was disliked.

But sure, I'm certain we'll be awesome with our new first year head coach and first year GM and QB on his third team in three years in the league combination.

Keep in mind ... I have exactly as many Super Bowl rings as everyone in our ownership, front office, coaching staff, and roster combined.

Well I'm sure you said that right after the signings because that was what was reported. But here, after Rodgers has already been released, you continue to call them smart signings and that they weren't players but coaches. They definitely weren't free and anyone can see that by googling their contract numbers on Spotrac. And they were definitely players on the team.

Honestly, this team always underperforms when expectation are high and over performs when expectations are low, so bet the over this season is my guess.

They were free for the Jets. Rodgers paid their salaries by taking less money.

What a great guy paying the salaries of his washed up teammates. Pretty cool they weren’t even on the payroll, sucks that we had to watch those bums play though

Speaking of Devante Adams did you know his wife is named Devanne?

what are the chances a Devante marries a Devanne

I've been saying it for years but just get to around .500. It's been 84 years...

Play competitive football. The majority of our losses have been blowouts for so long now. Just stay in games and if we lose by 1 score in the 4th, whatever it's better than what it's been.

The bar has been set so low for me but the reality is this team lowers the bar every single year. This team keeps trying to do the quick fix, just for once build a foundation and improve steadily and we'll get to double digit wins and playoffs.
