You are asking the wrong fans. Jet fans are notorious for crapping all over every player or coach who leaves. Worst in the NFL. You'll see it in the responses.

He came into camp last year late but in good condition and 10-12 pounds heavier, which helped in the run D and didn't seem to slow him down in the pass D. He was our best defensive player hands down. Througout his years with us I saw several games that he won single handed. He will destroy teams that fall behind with time running out. Don't worry, you got a good one.

The best way to describe Abraham against the run is that he is great tracking down guys sideline to sideline using his speed, but he seems to struggle when teams run right at him. Hope this helps.

Yeah...he tends to line up on the far outside of the edge to beat the tackle which creates a big gap between the tackle and guard....1on1 he can tackle anyone but a big hole is usually there when he does...he definitely excels when the opposing offense HAVE to pass.

Abraham has definitely improved against the run a lot. Early in his career it was a major weakness, but he's gotten a lot better. Like a few other guys have said, I think his main problem now is that he gets too far into the backfield trying to get to the QB and runs himself out of the play. The only thing you have to worry about with him is the injury problem, but it is a big problem. I wouldn't count on him being able to play a full season, but when he's on the field, he's great.

Oh yeah he's not all that good at dropping off into coverage. Not sure why, but he's not.

I could put it another way.... the run D in Atlanta is not as good as it was last year, as far as JA's position goes. Hartwell will have to cheat to his side some, but having Hartwell back should help a lot in run D. I think Abraham is best used the way Indy uses Freeney. Only play him in passing situations, and turn him loose. That should keep him fresh and motivated. He's not a J Peppers type, that's for sure.

The bottom line is that you guys got the better in that trade.
He not great against the run,but he not going to hurt your D either.
