I love how Maine was walked on 4 pitches. Why couldn't this have happened last night?

During Milledge's first at bat, Gary said, something like, "Green's been starting usually, but Willie's playing a hunch here." And of course, Milledge homers.

Well, they've been platooning for the last couple months and a lefty was starting so it's hardly a hunch. The only difference lately is that Willie had been punishing Milledge by giving Gomez starts/ABs since his suspension.

 

Seriously, swap Milledge and Reyes in the batting order. This clown needs a wake-up call.

 

Willie should bench Reyes for that. Up 8-0 and you can't bench him tomorrow. It's like with a kid, Reyes has to know that EVERY time he does it he gets punished.

 

I know Reyes screwed up, but these games are too important to send a message. I do hope--in vain, probably--that Willie gives him shit about it though.

 

True, I called it a hunch because we haven't seen Milledge in a while, as you alluded to before.

 

I bet Willie will still try to take credit for starting Milledge today anyway if the Mets win.

 

Reyes should have been benched. Pathetic.

 

It's not like the Mets would lose anything by benching Reyes anyway.
