I don't think Pryor has struggled THAT much in coverage. Last week's play was due to Antonio Allen, not Pryor. Landry is so awful in regards to coverage. Eventually as the 18th pick, you have to give the kid the reigns to the secondary and look for him to be the communicator. This scenario to an extent does remind me of drafting Coples and Richardson back to back yrs. Moving pieces around hoping they fit.
That play last week actually was Pryor's fault, he dropped down too far into the box when he was supposed to be playing over the top. Allen was correctly playing trail position.
http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/20...id_wrong_on_lions_59-yard_touchdown_pass.html Allen took full responsibility and mentioned what was suppose to happen on that play. Sounds like it was Allen's fault to me.
Well good for Pryor then, it definitely looked like his fault live. Rex must be super pissed at Allen for getting beaten deep then.
What in Rex's history makes you think he will still Landry in favor of Pryor and Allen? If healthy, we're certain to see Landry in one of the starting safety spots for the entire year. Odds are Allen will be the 3rd wheel.
The coaches already confirmed that it was more of Allens responsibilities and he blew it. He was even quoted himself saying that in an article. Regardless though, Pryor had no other responsibilities on that play and shoulda still gave over the top help.
Honestly Walls is just a stop gap until we find a new corner in about 13 years, hope he can play until he is 40
