I'm assuming this is in reference to the Brady asking for the game clock bumped to 25. The response was outrageous.

I personally dislike the blocking (beyond 1 yard past the LOS) before the bubble screen is completed. The Patriots are guilty of this, too, but it's nearly impossible to defend.

The flags were over the top. Otherwise, I agree.

Actually today it was people who don't know the difference between defensive holding vs. pass interference (THE BALL WAS UNCATCHABLE!!1!1!!!).

    Brady cheated. Fuck Tom.

Which leads to my next peeve: fans who not only believe the league/refs are out to screw ONLY their team, but INSIST that (insert division rival here) will NEVER have that called on them.

I don't like the taunting penalty. I think endzone celebrations are entertaining.

The interchangeability of PI and defensive holding calls is what bothers me. Refs just decide on a whim whether a penalty is 5 yards or 35-40 yards with no rhyme or reason, it's bullshit.

That call on Revis today I've seen called defensive holding dozens of times but all of a sudden it's PI when the Dolphins are getting smacked and need a spark.

It was absolutely, unquestionably PI. If it happens before the ball is in the air, it's holding. If it happens while the ball is in the air, it's PI. The ball was already in the air and Revis grabbing him slowed him down enough that he couldn't make a play on the ball. That's PI all day, every day.

    In no particular order

Replays too long and too many
    Too many flags on DB's
Too much help for elite QB's by refs like they need it
Too much holding allowed by O line of the elite and old QB's (Brady manning)
    No good hitting anymore
    Too many bubble screens
The players making 1st down gestures
    The players making flag gestures
    Too many commercials
They had to speed up games to account for all the delays I hate that clock doesn't stop on all out of bounds plays no matter the time
Too strict on continuation of the catch rule- once you catch it and go out of bounds you should get the catch- see Calvin Johnson
    No kickoff returns
    Not enough laterals
Not enough crazy offensive plays (flee flicker, hook and ladder, halfback options)
    London games
Not enough cheerleader time on TV
Dumb announcers trying to be too smart
Any and all pre show games
    All media

    I got more

KR are almost non existent, should make it like college kick it out of the end zone and the receiving team gets the ball at the 25

in hockey they penalize you for diving. in basketball they fine you for flopping too much. I think it would be in the NFL's best interest to institute something like that.

on one hand I am torn because the rule book is just too fuckin long and ridiculous already but I can't stand pansies lobbying for flags. it has the potential to turn into soccer where people fall down and fake paralysis just to get a penalty

    Penalties on "defenseless" receivers.

When a receiver stretched is arms out to catch a ball he is, almost by definition, "defenseless".

So do defenders need to allow him to make the catch, then get himself in a defending position before you can hit him?

It's almost as if refs look at how violent a hit is before they make the call. Perfectly legit hits separating receiver and the ball, but wow, that looked bad, lets throw the flag.

Also penalized hits on QBs are way over the top. You basically have to hit him around the bellybutton--no higher, no lower, whilst he still has the football--a nanosecond late--and you're getting a flag.

Also flags on helmet to helmet hits when the call carrier DROPS HIS head into the path of the defenders helmet already en route. Or when a defender's helmet hits mid chest but slides up into the chin/facemask area.

Mine is similar to yours OP. I think it was Sunday night when Hocker missed that FG and the morons on Dallas picked up the ball after it hit the goal post... and started running as if it was returnable.. To make it worse Saint players began chasing him down.

This annoys me as well. Plus the fact that they have to make a huge announcement every time. "There is no foul on the play for roughing the passer because blah blah blah blah". If you pick up a flag, just signal to the score table and continue the game.

If you do that the D will never get off the field. If you have a 3rd down, it would still be an automatic first, so people aren't going to just interfere with every deep pass as a result. Slippery slope. I don't buy it.
