Yeah I don’t think the Jets offense did that at any point…scoring that many points last year. This defense is cringe. May need to stop playing so much Nickel.
stayed in 2 high for way too long in the first half. DL got bullied all game. The Jets D might need to start playing press coverage to slow down other teams quick pass attack.
Both suck. Sooner we realize this the better. Let Saleh go. Throw money at Dallas Cowboys OC to be the HC and go from there.

LOL Brook, I think you need to put down whatever you're smoking. Lafleur is still very much on the hot seat for me, but Saleh has been a head coach for 8 damn games. This team was never projected to be a playoff team. The last two games they proved that they can be very competitive and potentially win some more games. Yes, the defense was shit yesterday, but the defense has also played really well at other times in the season. This is a the growing pains of a young roster with a young staff. Scoring 64+ points in 2 games, I will take any damn day. Many pieces still need to be added, particularly on defense. We have spent the last offseason spending a ton on offense. It was always projected that this offseason would be a lot more focused on the defense. Give it time. You can't expect everything to click immediately at the same time.
I don’t either. It’s so discouraging to think they hired another bum coach but it’s something we have to consider. The team is bad on the road and so unprepared at times it’s unacceptable
It’s okay. Dan Campbell who’s a fiery guy probably isn’t the guy after 8 games and not winning a game. So fire him too. Or fire Saleh, get the next guy in here who goes 2-6 and we can fire him too. At some point you gotta see thru with the vision, work thru the pains and see what lies beneath. There’s still a talent issue and a coaching issue which needs to be worked thru. It doesn’t mean Saleh isn’t the answer. I don’t understand the jekyl and Hyde type of responses week to week…because the board was so high on the team after beating the Bengals. There’s obviously a talent issue mostly in the back 7 of this defense. Outside of CJ, Maye (who’s now hurt), Hall and Carter, who’s really there? i think the Jets shall play less Nickel. CJ can only do so much. They are relying on MC who’s a nickel back, and safeties that are 15 and 25 yards off the ball to help in the run game. I’m not sure why Ashtyn is playing super deep but they have to tinker with that. Play closer to the line, they also don’t have a run stuffing safety to help right now. The LB corps is beat up, the safeties are a bunch of backups at best right now. If Jeff isn’t up to task, then let Saleh run the defense, that’s his forte. But this is where I say, a coaching staff has to work thru the ups and downs, figure out what works. Ulbrich doesn’t seem to be the answer if the defense is getting destroyed right now but we knew this back 7 was super young so this was to be expected. You also can’t just fire and get rid of everyone at the sight scrutiny and bad play. Jet fans done wanted LaFleur out of here, now the offense has some flow so he’s okay now right? It takes time. JU also had the defense somewhat respectable early on, so what happened from then til now? Adjustments will be made. Let them work thru this.
Great response man. I got no counter argument for you because everything you say is right. But I still don’t have that gut feeling about Saleh. I hope I am wrong. I would love to be wrong believe me.
You’re one of the more level headed posters here so I totally get it and it’s been a few ugly losses. But we still don’t know. And I truly feel the parts here are still lacking. There’s only so much “coaching” can do at times when the talent isn’t there. I WILL say that coaching is playing a part, when the defense basically stays in Nickel sets all game and you’re getting gashed consistently. Maybe the defense should play Davis/CJ and Quincy at the same time. Play the safeties closer to the line too. There’s definitely a talent deficiency on defense and we know and felt that on the defensive side. The LB corps is razor thin. Quincy for all we do love, he’s still playing at 225 and just got here at the beginning of the season. The corners are still relatively inexperienced in terms of game play. The safeties are legit backups and Davis is still a ? To me. None of them help in run support and then add that they play so far off the ball. Adjustments need to be made. Good news is they have shown some initiative to change things up between LaFleur going to the box, bringing in Beck but keep going. Help out this defense which has been porous lately, JD, bring in some guys if the ones on the roster ain’t cutting it or switch up how you play.
Gase was infinitely worse because they had him as a GM for small parts of his start. Gase had more to work with than Saleh and set us back for years
