I'm a big Mets fan and I don't give a shit who teaches him how to slide. No more throwing shoulders into the LB's and Corners bearing down on him when he scrambles.

Get the 1st, slide and make the defenders liable for hitting you.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi's talk to the Jets after practice was refreshing to the players.

"Oh, that was great, man," CB Darrelle Revis said. "That was the first time I met him. He gave us a little pep talk about the outcome of this year that they had and some of the ups and downs they had. I took something out if and it was unity. It was a great speech."

Why the hell would Rex bring in a BASEBALL guy to teach Sanchez how to slide? God, what an idiot.

I thought the same thing, but he probably talked about being a winner and championships, all that good stuff.

He has done it as a player and coach, granted in a totally different sport, lol.
    It's like Mangina's boxing obsession.

Did Girardi ever slide? Maybe they should have called Rckey Henderson, hell just sign Rickey Henderson.

    its nothing like that.

Winners in other sports are brought in to talk to NFL teams all the time. Rex has a way of always making it funny, and what a better way then to have the WS Manager do it. Its funny and educational.... Rex Keeps It Likable and Learnable - remember that phrase?

You are correct, I phrased it wrong, I meant it be sarcastic about EM. I think Rex is trying to bring a winning attitude in, he's brought other "champions" in this year too.

Sanchez has enough Rickey Henderson in him. I think Ryan made this point during his press conference yesterday.

Maybe it's because I play soccer regularly but surely the act of sliding itself is fairly simple? I'm sure he has the physical ability to slide, he just has to get past the mental urge to barge people out of the way with his head...

Also, as a Sox fan I couldn't care less who teaches him to slide, as long as he starts doing it. And soon!
