If Gholdson was a Jet and made these hits there would be some type of "Appreaciation" thread, look at the players he hit Kerley,Hill, and Cumberland Tom Brady can trip into those guys and they would get hurt
Landry had these kinds of hits last year, and not much fuzz was made about it here. So you're correct. But that doesn't take away from the fact that these kinds of hits (incl. some of LaRon Landry's hits last year) should be alienated from the game.
So get a load of this. Lavonte David got fined $7,800 for pushing Sanchez out of bounds on the last play of the game. By that standard, what Goldson did was a 100 time worse. Clearly the league is just paying attention to the highlights and big plays instead of scouring the tapes looking for players leading with their helmuts.
Brian Costello @BrianCoz 10m As others have reported. Goldson fined $30,000 for hit on Cumberland. David $7,875 for late hit on Geno. No fine for Barron hit on Kerley Expand
and how much did that pig from the Lions get fined for just going after someones legs. This is a joke..and the NFL will one day pay the price for letting guys get slapped on the hand for things like this...its sadly coming very soon.
Looks like the NFL may have been paying attention after all. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/buccaneers-goldson-could-suspended-142953509--nfl.html
Should fans take responsibility for watching a sport that continually injuries the participants? Lets face it boxing and Football are brutal sports and we love and support it with hard cash. Maybe sports like football and boxing should be illegal. Would the fans support a pro-flag football league?
and it is official...he is suspended for 1 game for a hit this past weekend...one week late. As far as posters saying if he were a Jet a thread would be about him..yeah Landry had a few dumb late hits last year and he was blasted on those. This guy Goodson has no idea where the football is..nor does he care...he is a sick dude..and this suspension is one week late because he almost killed another guy last Sunday.
Truth be told Biggs, this past week with the new Red Zone, my son and I were all over the place on games and after a few hits...I just turned to my son and said "maybe Im getting too old for this..I just do not remember hits like this that often" Maybe its me getting old...but I have no idea how some receivers are surviving some of these hits.
It's not even that good. He won his appeal and will not be suspended for any games at all. The only silver lining is that he plays against the Patriots this week (when he would have been suspended had he lost the appeal). The only league this guy should be on is one inside a prison.
Goldson should have been ejected from our game and he deserves the suspension- of course it comes against the Pats though.
Timing of this suspension is no good. I would rather have him on the field this week. Tampa secondary will eat Brady up this week.
Awsome news Gholdsons apeal overturned his suspension , he will be out there headhunting Patriot players hopefully he takes out Edelmen
Don't even go there. Dude lead with his helmet and launched himself into three different Jet's receivers in one game. Kerley got hit in the head and sat out the next game with a concussion. Cumberland got hit in the head and spent a quarter in the locker room. Hill got hit in the ribs and spent at least a quarter in the locker room. I miss the old rules as much as anyone but the days of Buddy Ryan and Monday Night body bag games are long gone. Under the current rules there is no place for this clown in the NFL.
