Regarding the "Rex plays favorites" criticism, does anyone actually have an example of a better player who was left on the sidelines while a worse player kept his starting role? The first guy that everyone points to is obviously Sanchez, but we haven't had a legitimate other option there at any point in his career. MAYBE you could count Brunell, but there was no reason to ever bench Sanchez in 2010 anyway. Tebow was a joke. And Sanchez DID get benched for McElroy. Twice. And this year he got to split reps with a rookie 2nd round pick.

Rex's BFF4L Bart Scott was basically a one down player last year. I don't remember ever thinking to myself that "insert player on bench here" is better than what's on the field. The talent on the team all around just went downhill, fast. That's not the coach's fault.

Over the time Rex has been our HC no coach in the league had been given less talent at quarterback by their front office and achieved more than Rex has.

Talk about Belichick, Tomlin and McCarthy all you like, but the only thing they have that is head and shoulders above what Rex has is a great QB. Not game management, clock management, leadership or anything else.

I destroyed nearly every single point of yours - where is your rebuttal? I'll be waiting for it.

    You are sooo right here...

And you are right here too!!!

I think this assembled group is the best we've had in years!! The ONLY way this is better is to have "2 years ago Mike Westhoff."

The sports media are assholes. Collectively there about 4 or 5, Nationally, that are worth reading and do their due diligence. The others bitch, moan and whine about a guy and then if/when a teams replaces that guy they bitch, moan & whine on the flip side.

You know...it might be sad if it weren't so scary how useless these turds are. Hell, I would LOVE to get paid to write about the Jets for a paper/magazine/blog!!!! Talk about a dream job!! That's better than playing cause I'm not getting hurt or coaching because I don't have to work 22 hours a day!! It's a travesty how incompetent and useless they are at their jobs.

  6. I've been biting my tongue alot at work this week & have been ignoring alot of sports radio. I dunno about the rest of you...but I've had enough of the daily verbal abuse & mockery of my favorite team. Regardless of who's "really in control", who will be the coach next year or all the QB drama it's about the Green & White winning football games. It's time Jet fans stand behind the team on the one item we can all agree on..loving the Jets.

The whole world has it out for this team.Part of it justified but not to this extreme. The reporting has become amateur & mean spirited at best. It's time Rex & the team fight back & do the only thing they can do: Win.

When talking about the Jets, your statement about the "best all around coaching staff in years" should be taken in the context of "the cream of the crap". That being said, extending Rex another 5 or 10 years really would address te continuity question. Why not just give Rex a piece of the team. Say 51%.

I haven't watched any football segments on TV, really haven't read any football websites unless linked there by here. Removed a bunch of NFL writers from my twitter feed. I'm doing the same thing as you, just ignoring everyone piling on

  10. Even the Kotite years weren't this bad. And those front offices/coaching staffs really WERE incompetent.

Fire Rex why well because he has been here for five seasons now.Is that not long enough? New qb New coach every five years that is what makes the Jets successful.

The grass is always greener on the other side.

You've basically said Rex is perfect

I said my piece and will reiterate

I don't want Rex fired though I think he will be

However he has to improve and cut out some of the things I listed

The issue is guys only look at how the defense performs and says Rex is a good HC because we had 4 top defenses and 2 AFCCG appearances but in reality the team has gone backwards

    Our defense went from 1-3-5-8

Those AFCCG were years 1 and 2

Our team has also be under prepared at times, gotten bullied, looked confused and made critical mental mistakes countless times

If Rex gets us back to our smash mouth mentality this team will take a huge step forward but this shit we've been the last 2 years isn't going to win us anything
