We seem to quickly run out of luck with QBs in our history...Hate it man.

People may dislike it, but the year Elway got drafted we should have taken Marino just like everyone else should have.

Blame Don Shula. He started (or exacerbated) the Marino cocaine rumors (which weren't hard to believe given the coke scene in Pittsburgh back in the 70s) and a lot of teams were scared off.

You realize that not only did O'Brien go before Marino but so did Todd Blackledge AND Tony Eason.

To this day, Marino was the greatest college QB I ever saw play live.

I also think he's the NFL GOAT, but that can be debated.

I used to drink in Bob Davis Bar in Interlaken, NJ. Have played golf with him over the years

Lining up that terrible list QBs is painful. What sucks more is that the Jets punter who played QB looked better than some of those guys.

I still wonder if Bill Parcells had urged Archie/Peyton for Manning to come out in 1997, if he would have.

And trading that #1 pick (Orlando Pace, if not Manning) was asinine.

Great Jet QB History would make for a very, very short book.

A QB with a brain would be nice! Chad Pennington before the injuries WAS a franchise type of QB. Very smart, studied film, worked hard, he was a leader. But of course he was made of GLASS which led to his diminished arm strength. Oh what it could have been had he not been so injury prone! In my opinion he's the BEST QB this franchise has ever had. Now I'm 27 years old but to me he was better than Vinny T. Older fans can argue Joe Namath brought us a Super Bowl I get that but I think Chad was the best QB

The Jets have had 3 QBs worth mentioning in my eyes Joe Namath Ken O'Brien and Chad Pennington, after that it drops off, I always wondered what Jeff Blake would've done as the starting QB of the Jets, but oh well

Richard Todd was OK, better than average.

When the Jets panicked and elevated Joe Walton to HC -- a move applauded by 90% of the writers and fans but not me -- he regressed terribly.

Sad to say , I crossed my fingers hoping against hope that Sanchez could have that 5th year with the Jets to prove he was a capable QB.
    We'll never know.

What really really sucks about this is that Rex will be fired ...and it's really not his fault, based on what he had available to him. Are we in
for another 5 years of rebuild?

    This is really sad.....
