It was reduced by an arbitor, not the league Yet another swing and miss by Goodell. Still uncertain whether his agent and NFLPA with accept the reduction or seek further legal action.
The Brady suspension is definitely getting reduced now...the NFL can't afford yet ANOTHER bad optic of how do you give Brady the same penalty for 'maybe' deflating footballs below a legal limit that you give Hardy for his lowlife behavior?
I disagree. Brady's suspension will not be reduced by the League. They will let it get knocked down by an arbitor or courts just like all other previous suspensions just so Goodell can save face by saying "hey I tried, someone else reduced them."
$13.1 M prove it deal, such a discount, funny Yeah, I know it's been a while and I think the OP has long ago gotten the heave ho but just wanted to laugh at him again.
Moron Goodell did his part by covering his ass by giving him 10 games knowing It would probably get knocked down to 6
And if his suspension is for not cooperating and he cooperated, why wouldn't it be reduced or completely overturned?
Brady did not cooperate (hand over the cell phone), which was the basis of his suspension. Based on that, there is zero reason for Goodell to reduce the suspension. An arbitor or courts may likely reduce the suspension, but there appears to be no basis to completely overturn the Leagues suspension. When you get suspended for not cooperating, the only thing that should get you off the hook is cooperating. Hardy's reduction for a verifiable offense should not have a bearing on Brady's appeal. Goodell has proven to be a tool in these matters, but he is better served letting his decisions stand and let others (arbitors, courts) decide the final outcome. It's not like he's going to say "gee my Rice/Peterson/Hardy decisions all got knocked down, I better knock down Brady's before someone else does".
That was my point, if Brady cooperated at the hearing. I've heard that his camp did everything asked of them at the hearing. The suspension is not for anything that may or may not have happened to the footballs but for refusual of cooperation initially as all information that should have been needed would have been on phones already turned in, leaving Brady feeling no need to also do so. If Brady did turn over his phone at the hearing and there was nothing incriminating on it then the suspension should be rescinded. The biggest reason that it probably won't be rescinded entirely is because the NFL spent $5,000,000 on a report that said "Something may have happened but there isn't enough evidence to come to a conclusion that it did or did not happen." If it goes to court, which it probably will, the NFL will be laughed at and Brady will miss 0 games, unless the NFL has some ace up its sleeve that wasn't released with the Wells Report. Judging by Goodell and the NFL's track record in court recently, I don't think he wants that. Edit: As far as Rice, HArdy, and Peterson, I couldn't care less about their suspensions, the average American would be in jail, they got a paid vacation worth millions.
So kicking the crap out of your girlfriend and smoking some refer, (which is legal in some states) is met with the same punishment? League really is a joke.
Unless Brady texted his wife or someone else whose phone wasn't turned in saying "holy shit, they're on to me!" Not trying to derail the thread into a Brady discussion, just saying the Hardy decision by an arbitor (or the Peterson or Rice cases) should not have a bearing on Goodell's decision regarding the appeal.
League had no right to punish Hardy because it didn't involve an offense tied to the game. The courts handle this. Brady however cheated and brought the integrity of the game into question. Brady's suspension should be doubled.
At the end of the day PR is also an element of business that gets weighed against the benefits of his ability. You can't argue from the perspective of business and then not consider the PR impact of the player.
Anyone else see these photos released by dead spin? Cowboys preaching they are bringing awareness to domestic violence. That's a kid of shit.. Why not sign ray rice then since they just cut Randle???
Yeah those pictures are fucked. No wonder he was suspended for so long. But still, the Cowboys just the other day proclaimed him as a leader. He should never play in the NFL again.
What's even more fucked up is Jason witten, who is a true leader in that locker room and on the Cowboys, and the founder of a foundation against domestic violence (SCORE) has to share a locker room with that piece of shit.
The pictures looked bad. The girlfriends comments were even more infuriating. Something to the extent of "this is it, this is the time he's gonna kill me"..what a dumb twat to stay with a guy that something like this obviously happened with before. For what? Money obviously. Hardy is a total loser of a human being but the girl isnt much smarter. Two dummies that would look a lot better at the bottom of a cliff.
