Good post CMan. I go nuts when I see people posting at an 11, 12 and even 13 win season for us this season. Change doesn't happen overnight. However, the quantum leap we have taken so far is astonishing. People need to worry less about the playoffs and wins/losses and just watch this team grow over the course of this year.

That's what I was thinking all game. Man, that's why I was hoping for a win SOOOO bad today, just to prove to themselves that they are a force to be reckon with. I mean, who's a better team in the regular season for the past few years than the Colts? A win would have been huge in the short term, but I think that whatever positive things they take away from today will benefit in the long run. I'm EXTREMELY happy to be a Jets fan right now, and I'm excited for the next game.

To cman...you hit the nail on the head..again. I wasnt even pissed about going for on fourth down...hes got a gameplan. He wanted to show the o he trusted them. Its all a learning experience.

To the guys that are pissed...hey...we all could taste the win. Stay pissed..its part of why we comeback for more and more...but I promise you this...around Wednesday you will too, be very proud of what this team did today.

Lots of guts...never quit..and that showed on the last play of the game...that play is what this team will be about all year...some good..some bad...but never quit.

Im damn proud of this team...the head coach..the front office..and I have no...zero..doubts this team is heading in the right direction.

Cman I agree. im dissapointed but not with the Jets. If you told me wed be 2-2 after week 4 with 2 very close losses to goood times, Id be pumped. Mangini has done great and in the long run this team is only going to get better.

Excellent post. This is what we asked for during the offseason: "competitive losses". Of course it's easier to ask for that it is to deal with, but it's still better than getting blown out as far as measuring where the team is. We did have the game in our grasp, but the fact that we lost is what the difference is between the Colts and the Jets. Those who are contending and those who are rebuilding. We're just not there yet. But we're not as far as it seemed a few weeks ago. They've been in every game, and fought back in the game that they looked to be out of. The D needs to step up big time, but overall this team is way better than anyone gave them credit for. Very encouraging moving forward.

but they did let Manning sit in his rocking chair at the end of the game. they should have sent some guys. it is the only thing that works with him.

I agree but in the same sence having the lead with 1:30 left in the game and losing is still a tuff pill to swallow.

This team is going to be GOOD next year- mark my words, with a full offseason to improve this team via the draft and free agency, we're going to be scaring a helluva lot of teams next year.

Hell, I'm betting we make some noise this year given our schedule.

PS- The Patsies laid the smack down on the Bengals; we played the Pats a hell of a lot closer than the Bengals... what does that say about the state of the AFC North?

Why peg us as not going to the superbowl this year?

That's like telling your kid to go to college instead of persue his or her ambition of becoming a goat herder. :martin:

Great post CMan. I tried to say this all day yesterday. People are totally unrealistic with their expectations. So we lost. Big deal. Yeah, it hurts, every loss hurts, but what about the positives?

We lost to the COLTS. Not to Houston (like Miami.) Not to Buffalo (who we beat at their house.) People are sitting around saying "How could we LET Manning score at will on us?" What?!?! Manning scores at will on EVERYONE.

Yes, our secondary sucks. So? We are a rebuilding team. Every week, the problems that showed the week before are improved a bit. Our running game improved a bit yesterday. So why can't the DBs get some extra work this week, and maybe come out stonger next week?

I'm tired of the abuse against Miller for that PI also. He was beat on the play. He did what he had to do in that situation. He stopped the score. Had he not interfered, that was a SURE TD. He gave the D another chance.

And I think the most significant part of the game, as someone else already pointed out, was the last play. We played to win even after the clock hit 0:00. When was the last time we had a team that was still in the game when the clock was down to nothing?

You would think, just a few months removed from the Herm era, people would be happy that we actually have a team worth watching, rather than the next ridiculous quote about why we got spanked.

The last thing I am going to say is something I repeated over and over yesterday. We played a legitimate Super Bowl contender like we are a playoff team. How can you ask for more than that when we won FOUR games last year?

Great post. Some people are just can't handle losing no matter who we lose too. We all came into the season with one goal, to see this team progress. 2 wins later many folks have built up expectations and in the end the jets cannot live up to them. This is a young, young team folks. You have to give it time.

Expectations change very quickly in this leagyue, there is no longer the traditional 3-5 years rebuilding. we ahve a team capable of making the postseason THIS YEAR and I don't care we covered the spread, I don't care we were close against a good team we had opportunities to win the game and we should have won the game but we did not so yes I am upset today. We should be 3-1 but instead we are 2-2.

things change quickly, last year we had expectations then a month into it they were all gone. teams get good and bad really fast. It doesn't matter what we thought a month agao, they have proven they are alot better and w/ a halthy Chad we should expect to win. we didn't know we'd have a healthy Chad a month ago, yesterday's loss was as brutal as it gets for october.
