If it took this long for Haley to make a decission about coming to the Jets, then I don't want him in NY. He's unsure or the Jets are unsure if he was the choice.

    BAD JUJU!

If he's looking to potentially find a HC job, do you really blame him?

He is weighing his options.. The new league year doesn't start to March. If he comes here, he will be here way before then.

    It doesn't mean "bad juju".

What capacity would Haley have on the team if hired?

Yeah he's still being hopeful, but it's not going to happen.

So, if in your chosen profession, you were at the top of your field and lost your job, you would take a lower position when you could get a similar position with another company?

    maybe he joins up

    maybe not

not the most critical issue in Jet history by any means

we have a HC in place and an OC and DC and an entire Defensive coaching staff. Sparano can easily find other guys just as good as Haley to fill out his offensive assistants staff.

Of course they can. If they hired Kotite for qb coach you'd say he was awesome.

Sorry if you thought it was a personal attack, that wasn't my intent. I was attacking the mentality you routinely demonstrate here.

I wonder if Haley brought this up during his interview and if that is why he doesn't have the job.

" The scene is one out of Hollywood. [Todd Haley] didn't know who else might be listening. Looking up toward the ceiling, he darted into a back hallway before hesitating. Then he turned around, going back through a door and stopping again. Haley suspected that many rooms at the team facility were bugged so that team administrators could monitor employees' conversations. Stopping finally in a conference room, Haley said he believed his personal cellphone, a line he used before being hired by the Chiefs in 2009, had been tampered with. Paranoid? ... "The level of paranoia was probably the highest that I had ever seen it anywhere," another former high-ranking staffer said."

^We could use some of that around here. I still hope Haley joins up, we need guys who hate Belichick and will discipline players on this staff.

Did the Jets hire Sparano under the condition he would only operate 1 facet of the offense and assumed they would get Haley?

If the Haley thing falls through, what other coordinator is going to want to defer to an additional guy?

    I don't get it.

They ultimately will have to use Sparano for everything.
