I'd take Mark Sanchez over Chad Henne anyday... (well) except for today. Sanchez may have had more yards today, but Henne threw for a touchdown while Sanchez threw an interception. Overall, I think Sanchez is the better of the two.
I agree Sanchez has been INCONSISTENT over the past two years, one week he shows up with all the confidence in the world, and the next week he shows up looking like there is a stick up his butt, but in the end; He is our QB and we need to support him.
It was obvious in the 1st QTR that Sanchez was gonna stink it up. He should've pulled him mid 3rd Qtr, if not sooner. No one thinks Brunnell is going to take the starting job, but Sanchez and the team needed a wake-up call.
I definitley think they should of benched Sanchez in the second half, it was a mistake not too, he's too high on life right now to break this guy, he would of gotten over it. He's totally lost and his focus is lacking.
i personally would have rather had Brunell out there today towards the end of the 3rd, beginning of the 4th. I was getting sick of seeing Steve Weatherford and a chance of pace could have helped.
So you wanted to see Steve Weatherford punting from even further back because Brunell has less of a chance of running away from the pass and escaping the sack than Sanchez?
Sanchez had the same look at the beginning of the game as he had last week: Scared! I f I can see it on the TV, so can the defense. Brady had that look against the Giants in the SB; after tremendous pressure from the D. Sanchez is now spooked before the first snap!
We need to let our 2nd year QB battle through the ups and downs. He's still pretty raw, and for comparison purposes, look at his rival 2nd year QB Chad Henne today: an embarassment with a TD. It doesn't help that the WRs were dropping everything, and Schitt was unable to spread out the D and take advantage of a poor Miami nickel and dime pack.
Henne started a lot of games in college. Sanchez only started 16. I think Sanchez is the better qb, and I hate to think that.
I was all for benching Mark Sanchez until you guys pointed out that Mark Brunell is the backup. With the calls for benching Sanchez, I had figured Joe Montana in his prime was on the bench or something. I'm not sure what benching Sanchez would accomplish. Sure, he's not playing well, but it's not for lack of effort. It's not a situation where you have a player who isn't living up to his talent because he has a poor work ethic. Sanchez is just struggling. But I don't see how Brunell would be more effective than a struggling Sanchez.
Sanchez was BAD today, but if Holmes doesn't drop that pass in the end zone we still win. That was the worst down of NFL football I have ever watched. Ever.
