I'm not guaging our season based on what Favre does this year. I really don't care. Our team has moved on....we should to.

i dont think this makes the vikes favorites in the nfc at all, i dont even think they win the nfc north. Brett Favre is the definition of a gunslinger, you cant turn him into a "gamemanager". If the vikes think that thats what thier going to get they are seriously mistaken.
Brett Favre has thrown more ints than anyone in the history of the game, do you think he cares if he throws some more? Did you watch him last year? He made some great throws but he also made throws where you were like wtf? I doesn't matter that he has a great running game, he had a great running game last year, he will still force the ball into coverage and ultimately ruin the vikings season, just like he did to the jets.

Just saying but the viking need a qb like chad:rofl:

I think Brett was just getting tired of hearing about Michael Vick on the news.

As good as our running game was last year, I can see the Vikes having a historically great running attack this year. No one respected Tavaris frikin Jackson. They were consistently stacking the box on Adrian Peterson and he still lit it up.

Favre will force them to defend the entire field, and AP will go f'n crazy. Obviously if he throws those ridiculous INT's will hurt them, but will he even need to go into that mode?

Did you see his performance in the Championship Game? Did you see that throw in OT?

Maybe, I'm not sure though. Ability wise of course but he's walking into another new team late at he most important position. Much like w/ us it can be a boom or bust move. We got bust.

We are going to have a rookie QB w/ a tougher sched and NE will have Brady. This isn't exactly an apples to apples comparison.

No one respected our pass game last year either(for most of the year) and we had a great running game.

It's a good thing they didn't have him to ruin the NFC championship game in overtime last season.

People were not stacking the box on us like they did against the Vikings. Not even close.

Yes, against the same defense that made Tony Romo and Tom Brady look ordinary (both of whom had great seasons)

They were not, D's were daring us to throw. favre struggled most of the year not just the last month. he got it going in that nice win streak we had where D's were respecting our pass game but before and after that they wanted Favre to throw rather than Leon and TJ running down their throats.

Romo has never won a playoff game and Brady still led a 80 yd TD drive in the final minutes. Favre was at home in a title game and threw away a SB chance.

Well, yeah..isn't that the point? We won't have as good a QB as we had last year? As far as the schedule, yes it is harder but the team is better and have a full year together now. Close to a wash.

true, true...but i can also make the case with Pennington last year we make the playoffs because we don't throw away those last games like Favre did.

and who knows if Pennington wins a game vs the Pats. Probably not

    IF, if and if!

This year we have a rookie QB so it's kind of unfair to judge.

I'm just sick and tired of Favre every year.

First he tells the Jets he's retiring. They release him. Then he as surgery and everyone thinks he's coming back for sure. This goes on for weeks. Everyone expects it. Then we get the final announcement a few weeks ago. FAVRe is NOT coming back! Thank god I said! Now he changes his mind and he's back again. Enough!

I personally think he played the Jets. He knew he was going to come back. He just didn't want to be a Jet.

You need to watch how defenses played us and how defenses played the Vikings last year to see the difference. Go take a look and get back to me.

Bottom line, the Packers wouldn't have been in the NFC championship in '07 without Favre. Yes, he made a bad throw in overtime to lose the game but he did enough to win that game in regulation. It never even should have come down to OT.

You'll defend Pennington losing in divisional playoff games where he absolutely sucks until the cows come home but because Favre made a poor throw in OT in the championship game against a defense that pretty much shut down the most prolific offense in the history of the nfl 2 weeks later, he's garbage. That's silly.

I wonder if Jets fans will get their panties wet again in their infatuation over this decidedly mediocre QB.

I frankly could care less if he comes back, as long as he stays far, far away from the Jets. I'm trying to flush out those horrible few memories of the Favre season in NY.

Other than Roger Clemens, who has done more to tarnish his career at his close than Favre?

one drive in no way changes the fact that the Giants D held him in check the majority of the game. or are you simply going to ignore the fact that the highest scoring team in NFL history only scored 14 points that game? I guess a QB engineering only 14 points is good if one of them comes in the 4th Quarter and they lose. riiiigghhht.

I'm pretty sure Jordan retired 3 times. He's still looked at for what he did on the court though. People just love to hate.
