Its getting old hearing this. He isn't the first player to throw Schitty under the bus. He isn't a good coordinator. Never has been. So why the fuck do they keep bringing him back?

Schotty spends all week gameplanning how to keep his job another week instead of beating the opponent's defense.

There is no getting around the lousy play calling. It has been an issue for years. It defies comprehension that the Jets cannot take advantage of a depleted secondary. If the line can't protect, then go max protect and send only 2 or 3 receivers out to beat the crappy secondary the Raiders threw out there.

The thing that has me kind of amazed is that part of the Schotty cache was that he was a hot head coach prospect and the Jets would soon lose him to some other team as a head coach.

Then 2007 happened and he suddenly didn't look so hot any more. Not his fault, the ceiling fell in on the whole offense that year,

Then 2008 the Jets looked up again with Favre in town and suddenly Schotty was hot again. He got an interview or two after the season that year.

Since then nobody talks about Schotty as a prime head coach candidate and of course he himself says he'd rather stick around here, which masks the embarrassing fact that nobody much wants him.

Schotty is to offenses what Mangini was to defenses.

Schotty is the last piece of coaching from a dead culture. I've said that before.

I want Rex's guy as OC. He wanted Hue Jackson, so his judgment is good.

Rex's guy will be good once schotty doesn't get a new contract.

It really is getting old though. This happened all of last year, and now it is happening this year. You know what really blows my mind though, a play or scheme will work, and after it has worked once or twice, all of a sudden you never see it again. How many times has Holmes caught a slant route for a gain of 10+ yards? Yet still we throw the ball 2 yards on 3rd and long. We have a 6'5" receiver along with Holmes, yet our main receiver this past game was LT? How is that possible?!

Mark Sanchez and the offense shines when in a hurry offense. We all saw it last year, and we have seen it already this year, yet where was it today? It's sickening at times. You sit in front of the TV shaking your head in amazement at the calls that are made. Do something. If it works, do it again. Do it again. Do it again. Do it until you force them to stop it, then try something else. Don't do something, watch it work, and then not do it again the entire game.

Dantoni would encourage long bombs....not 4 yard passes

Is part of the reason the Jets organization holds on to Schotty so tightly, for Sanchez? Doesn't Sanchez looooooove Schotty?

The Jets hold on to Schotty so tightly because if nobody hires him away they're going to have to fire him to get rid of him. Nobody has come calling for Schotty since Buffalo inquired after 2009 and they weren't asking real hard, just wanting to interview him for the job they gave to Chan Gailey eventually.

Rex Ryan has made repeated comments about how the Jets are sure to lose Schotty to a head-coaching job somewhere soon but nobody has fallen for that and actually tried to hire him.

If you ever worked in a corporation in mid-level management you understand that there are some people that you really don't want but you also don't want to fire them because it'd cause you problems elsewhere. Sometimes it's better over the short run to just live with the person unless the issues become so glaring that you can't ignore them.

Either way, I find it extremely hard to believe Rex will fire Schotty mid-season, we're stuck with him for this year.

Yep. One of the downsides of deciding to make do with what you have is that you're most likely to just get more of the same. If what you have is acceptable but nothing special then you're kind of capped at that point.

its pathetic that we have a team loaded with talent and they don't get the ball thrown to. You have guys like Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Jennings, etc. who get the big yards every game because that's what they are there for. Plax, holmes, and mason are all capable of doing this. Lets throw the ball down the field already and stop with the pussy 4 yard dump shit.

Our O-line won't even give the receivers the time of day to get open/make it downfield.

D'Antoni would have 11 variations of the Hail Mary.
