New England will not win the super bowl this year or for the next twenty years.

I hope that answered your question.

When brady retires and bellend is left to try to buld a franchise without the best qb in the last 20 years then you are welcome to come on...in the interim...in the memory of people past,...DIAF

I can understand your delight at the past two weeks. It probably doesn't soothe your Super Bowl / perfect season loss, Spygate, beat down by the Jets last year or my favorite image of Brady writhing in pain on opening day 2008. Anyway, to answer your questions...

#1 - No one really knows, but my guess is that he made the call on a recommendation from Tannenbaum and others.

#2 - I am not as high on Pettine as others, so it wouldn't suprise me. Ultimately for Rex to be a better HC he needs to coach the entire team. That being said, when you have the opportunity to higher good people, you do it.

    #3 - Having a back-up plan isn't a bad idea.

#4 - Rebuild the offensive line, resign Braylon Edwards and J-Co, cut Bart Scott, re-structure Sanchez's contract, sign a true #2 to push Sanchez, hire either Haley or Moore to boot in Sanchez's ass, trade down a few picks in the draft to pick-up a few more picks, and draft speed at LB and Safety.

Are you really crowing about finally winning your first playoff game since the Giants made you cry? You are better off losing your next one as I am sure you will so they don't make you cry again.

Really coming to trash talk after not winning a playoff game since 07? You beat an 8-8 team that everyone knew you were going to beat, congratulations?

You criticize Jets fans for talking about getting to the AFC championship and you gloat about winning a divisional game against a 8-8 team? How the mighty have fallen. Remind me of all the delusional Yankees fans once their dynasty ended.

    (I am a Yankees fan)

Many Yankee fans I know do not wish to be tainted with the same brush as the Patriots, whose only sustained success in their 60 year history has come on the heels of dysfunctional, amoral coach who will never escape the rumors of cheating.

That is true. I was just pointing out I knew/saw a lot of Yankees fans in 04/05 referencing the dynasty still when in fact it had been over for quite a time. I'm in Boston and I saw a "get ready for Patriots football" video/hype thing in Fenway and it was all highlights from 01-04, starting with the tuck rule. Made me realize how long ago it has been and how little success in the playoffs they have recently. Reminds me of the Colts of the early 2000's

Sporano is a great hire for what the Jets want to do on offense. BS system needs a veteran QB to run just to be average. A third year QB with one college start had no chance.

The JETS need to get back to basics convert third downs and let the defense do its thing. The JETS defense is not built to stay on the field for extended periods. The offense has to help and they help not by scoring 40 points but by converting third downs and staying in the field chewing up clock and make the opportunistic big play ala San Fran.

Sporano will also install some discipline with the malcontents in the locker room. So whoever hire it was it is a good one. There is no way Sporano is waiting in the wings to become head coach but I am excited with what he brings.

Now the Jets just need to upgrade their receiving corp, offensive line, Safeties and find a pass rusher and have Sanchez take a big step up and we are good to go.

Taking away Cotch, Edwards and Richardson hurt Sanchez more than people like to admit and the JETS need to find that got to guy for Sanchez.

  13. No.But every time I see you posting on this board like a cyber bully,I get excited. After all, anyone who spends their free time on an opposing fans message board talking trash has to have something horrible in their personal life.

Are you 500 pounds? Still living with your parents at 40? Do you even have a home or do you stink up your local library computer lab?

Whatever the case is..I feel for ya man. 3-4 years from now when Tommy terrific is an after thought...all those anti-depressants side effects will come rolling in. Who you gonna bully then?

Come on PatsFan. You guys beat an 8-8 team last night. If he does it again against a good defense (Houston or Baltimore) you can come back and gloat.

Congrats on getting your 1st playoff win in eons, but you were 14 pt favorites. You should have dominated.

Sparano had a lot of shit to work with in miami. Bad QBs and mediocre wideouts. Blah TEs. It will be interesting to see how he does. I mean, Channing Crowder was a starter on defense down there for a while. The fact that they finished so high in rushing every year is encouraging. No, I think Miami was more mismanaged than miscoached.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how he does with the wealth of offensive talent the Jets have to offer.

We know Rex is a good coach and that he was never in the hot seat. Overall he's done very good with our defense, even though this year we took a slight step back (5th overall instead of 4th overall). We are in good hands, Rex just needs to take another step up and start holding offensive guys accountable.

Not at all. He is being hired because of his dedication to establishing the run game and utilizing our backs properly.

No. If we don't turn it around next year I'll be surprised, but I'll be damned the day I ever see Sparano as Jets HC. The only way Rex could possibly lose his job is if we tank next season and go <6 wins.

Fix the offensive line first and foremost. Next priority should be receiver, then safety, then OLB. If we fix our safety issue and our d line develops further in the next training camp, our d could be back up to top 3. Offense should be priority, however because they been mediocre for quite a while.
