Not concerned, or at least not any more than I was before the game. This was a brand new start after a sudden change at QB and no time to adjust, neither QB had many reps in camp because most went to Wile E. Coyote. The Jets won the first two preseason games last year, lost the next two and you know what happened after that. Ron
Massive panic. I've sold all my belongings except a laptop and used the money to purchase bitcoins. I'll be posting from by secret cave/bunker behind the McDonalds I'm stealing wifi from. The end is nigh!
The defense was terrible, let's hope that was the plan because it doesn't look like there is time to fix it if it wasn't. Hoping we haven't been spoiled over the last 6 years but guessing we were.
My issue with the vanilla schemes, plain offense argument is if you can't run vanilla and simplified offense right, what's gonna happen when it gets complicated? Bad fundamentals will haunt you no matter what kind of scheme you run.
we're doomed...no shot...after seeing starters for 2 series and the rest mostly backups it's clear as day this team isn't very good.... so, who are the available free agents next year?
The only thing that concerns me is how poor our tackling was last night but that can be fixed. There is no need to go into nuclear meltdown at the moment, it's the first preseason game
Not concerned at all all yet. They had a lot of distractions this week. Hopefully Bowles gets them focused. I'll be a little concerned if they play similar in the third preseason game.
Its silly for anyone to be that concerned. If the starters were playing 3 quarters and we lost like that then yeah Id be concerned. But come on.
I think the cries of panic and "oh woe is me" are coming from the crowd that thought the Jets were going to go 12-4 or 14-2 and win the AFC East.
Everyones shitting on the defense.........They have to learn a new system, going from a defensive genius to Todd Bowles is gonna take time......its a process.....
Football is football. Systems got nothing to do with anything. Preseason is about evaluating skill. Missed tackles/getting beat I'm coverage is a basic football skill and symptoms of not being very good at basic football. If you can't do basic, you won't be able to do advanced. I would be mildly concerned.
I thought we looked like garbage. But, it's pre-season, and it's the first pre-season game, so you can't put too much stock in it. Teams don't want to show too much in pre-season to give other teams tape to watch, and obviously Fitztragic only had 1-2 days to prepare. But it looked like our entire offensive plan was to run the ball like Rex Ryan never left, and I was a bit concerned by how vanilla we looked. Though, I assume that's on purpose & due to missing Geno, etc. I'm assuming that'll change over time as we get to real games, and with Fitzy having more time to get timing down with receivers, etc. He already knows the offense, just has to get more reps to be smooth. What I liked the most, really, was Petty getting 3+ QTRs to play. It's a preseason game, and doesn't matter anyway. He looked like a rookie, but, he's got potential and I want to nurture that as much as possible. Only way we'll ever really get a franchise QB is to draft one & grow him the right way, so I hope he gets the whole second half next week, the 4th quarter in week 3 and the whole game in week 4 vs. the Eagles. He's young, let 'em go out there and practice at game speed.
