I agree. I like them both, and like both of their chances to develop into very good WRs for the Jets. I was just pointing out that Anderson could be every bit as good or better than Peake over the long run. I'd love to see them both turn out to be great WRs and have a friendly rivalry between them that will push them to greater heights.

    They're different WR body-types

Peake's body is akin to AJ Green

Anderson more of a TY Hilton type

I am BY NO MEANS saying either guys is as good as the comparison, just body types. Hopefully they can both develop into role players. With the different skill sets, they can both come in handy in the future.

this thread is stupid. The Jets cannot be fixed in one offseason. Fixng this team will take multiple offseasons.

You can't fix this mess in one offseason. The only area in which the Jets are arguably strong right now with young and mid-career players ready to play at a high level right now is on the defensive line and they're all DT's and at least one of them is talking his way further out of town with every passing day.

The Jets can try to be competitive next year and sign some more vets and roll the dice on some of the ones that are already here. They can trade for an ancient QB with injury problems. They can try and catch lightning in a bottle and they still might go 1-15 if the QB goes out for the year early as Romo is prone to do these days. If that doesn't happen, well then you get 9-7 and a one and out in the playoffs if we're lucky.

The better bet would be to tank for the first pick in the 2018 draft and hope a QB is there that's worth the pick. I've always been against tanking a season but the Jets are in a decade long rut now that threatens to turn into a decade out of the playoffs in a few years. I'd rather fix the damn team than double-or-nothing on the same plan that has us bottomed out in the first place.

Fixing the team means finding a QB that will play for us at a high level for more than a year or two. We can build everything else up and it's still going to come crashing down around us if we can't find the QB and keep him around.

Yes they are different body types, and play different positions. I didn't say or mean that they would compete for the same spot, but rather they could compete for who had the most catches, the most TDs, etc..

gotcha, i think they would compliment each other well. Clearly they don't have the natural born talent that a Rd1 drafted guy would, but if they put the work in and study their asses off, they can be contributing (maybe even starting caliber) player on this team

Ha! I was thinking have Woody take the team to London with him, then hope the Trumps buy the Raiders and move them to NY proper! Instant cred!

have you watched any games this year? folk hasn't missed a FG under 50 and only 1XP
he's 23 of 26 (and all 3 were blocked) so he's 100% on kicks not blocked. 23 for 23. not including the blocks he's 2 for 2 from 50+ as well and he kicks in a tough stadium. he has missed 2 XPs which is shitty but only 7 kickers in the NFL have NOT missed an XP this year (not counting bullock cause he only attempted 2)
gostkowski has missed 3 XP this year and many others have missed 2 or more.
he's as automatic as they come. how can you say he isn't top 10?
tucker has been the best this year. his only miss was blocked and he is 10-10 on 50+ yarders and hasn't missed an XP. but you cna't say a guy sucks because he isn't the best. in FG% even with the blocks he's 8th (not counting the 4 kickers that barely kicked this year)

Folk's been better than usual this year. Normally he's just outside the top half of kickers.

imo, the root of the problem, besides a starting QB, is the coaching staff - doesn't matter what players are brought in if the leadership is lacking.

Not at the moment, no. I do think he has a higher ceiling, though.

Anderson should be on the keep list for sure --point taken.

    You'd make John Idzik proud.

On a second thought - John, is that you?

That is also fine but the post had Anderson on the cut at the end of the season list, it wasn't a post about 5 year potential or a post on physicality, which in my opinion people make to much about in Anderson's case, he is sleight but he is there making plays and can only get better imo, he has looked a bright spot in a dismal season for me, there hasn't been many, him and Enunwa and that is about it on the offensive side, Williams on defence.
