To say that if you fire Rex where can you find a better coach is a crock of shit. The same people said the same thing about Sanchez. If you cut Mark he'll be great with another team. As far as I'm concerned Rex has the rest of the year to turn it around. If he's such a great coach than lets see it. I think he's got enough talent to win esp on defense. So far his defense sucks.

And to say that Rex hasn't been given enough good players to win is anther crock. He's had his way in every draft which has been top heavy in favor of the defense. Idzik has drafted 3 first rounders all on defense. His defense runs up all of their stats on downs 1 and 2. And then give up big plays on third downs. Give me a break.

Maybe that means his defense is overrated

If the media was running the team we'd have Revis and DeSean Jackson. If the fans were running it we'd have one of the Cromartie Bunch and at least another useful receiver (Sanders?). And in both cases Vick would be starting :p

Look he's had the draft picks so he can't complain. He has the talent on defense. Idzik drafted 2 dbs as first rounders over the past two years. He even signed Ed Reed last year. So you can't say that Idzik doesn't try to work with Rex and give him players that he's asked for. They even drafted Tajh Boyd a personal favorite of Rex. Let's see if this team comes to play this week after that butt kicking yesterday.

  6. I just can't wrap my head around this anti-Idzik agenda.Really..I can't.

I get the anger over the 21 million in cap space..but are 1-2 more free agents from this past class all that is missing from the Jets for them to find more success? I'm not so sure about that. Maybe if all you're looking at is the starting 22..yeah a #2 CB & WR are & were sorely needed. The dilluted offseason is making injuries more & more prevalent. You win w/ depth, competition & stability(both financial & in locker room)

The rationale for the 21 million makes plenty of sense to me. Don't overpay in an inflated market for average talent. It's that simple. The 21 million is just a scapegoat for fans to bitch. If he spent all that money & we were in this same spot you'd all bitch that we don't have the cap space to improve the team or resign our own in 2015. Fire Idzik! It's a joke.

The roster IS better this year than it was a year ago & the cap situation is becoming more & more healthy. We're in the midst of a rebuild. I'm not sure why so many find this so hard to accept.

We knew the opening stretch of the schedule had some tough match-ups for the Jets. We knew 1-6 was possible. Why at 1-4 is everyone screaming for a GM to go? 21 games into the regime?Coming off an overachieving 8-8 campaign? After drafting the reigning DROY?Starting an overwhelmed rookie QB?

I don't know what Idzik is yet...but what I do know is that when he took over the team needed to be rebuilt & that it would take multiple years. And that's what I've seen so far. A strategized methodical attempt at a long term rebuild. Ahh but that's the rub...you all don't want to hear "long term"...gotta be impatient & have that scapegoat. So fire away I guess. Basically the team is hopeless under this fan base's watch. We won't let anyone come in & actually build things the right way.

Rex will get fired before Idzik does.

So far his defense sucks? Before Sunday game the D lead the league in rushing and sacks. Plus 10th against the pass that doesn't suck.

Overall, a very thoughtful post. It's ultimately going to come down to how he drafts. So far, there are concerns. But, it's early.

You sound like Rex. His schemes are predictable. And his D gives up big plays. He has the talent on D.

You can throw those 10th in pass defense numbers that were severely inflated by playing a garbage Raiders in the trash. Every qb has had a field day against this defense and the numbers would look even worse if Calvin Johnson and Brandon Marshall were healthy. Sacks are a severely overrated stat. What good is a sack when you're team is ranked near the bottom in 3rd down conversion% and gives up the yardage lost on sacks anyway?

ya know.....I thought so as well but I am beginning to think we only have a few guys on the DL that could start for any other team. the back seven is really nothing more than average players outside of harris. if the LB unit could match the DL we would be much better off. the jets have had ample opportunity to build up the LB corp but for some odd reason it just isn't in focus....

I think we really need to focus on LB for next year and I hope for 2 new starters in that unit for 2015

Who cares? Only thing that matters is wins and losses.

agree! good head coaches coach to their players' strengths. not leave corners on an island when they prob should be in zone or have safety help! also good coaches do not put lbs in man cov on wr on 3rd and longs. for the last couple of years rex just keeps doing the same things over and over again with mostly negative results!! he's so fukn stubborn! constant clock mgmt fuck ups!! lots of too many men penalties(on a fkn punt return too no less)!!! penalties galore!! idzik has done a poor job so far true but rex hasn't been any better.

Agreed. If Rex gets fired I think he'll try and bring Dan Quinn in as HC. He's the DC for Seattle.

Its painfully obvious that both of them need to pack their bags. Idzik is in over his head and Rex and his team have been doing the same stupid things wrong for 4 years
