Melvin would be an awful pick. We HAVE a running back. If Ivory was given the number of carries that an average top 10 back gets (180) then he would be 9th in the league in yards, not to mention we are already 6th in the league in rushing yards as it is. The running game is one of the only things on the team that isn't a problem. It's just like when we took Pryor. He's a nice player but we were fine at safety already. We needed a WR or CB. Since we didn't take a corner we had to shift a saftey to CB and now he looks like shit too. If Cooper and Mariota are gone then we need to improve the offensive line. It's a boring pick that will anger Jet fans but in the long run it is for the best. The Cowboys O-Line has brought them back to life, it can do the same for us.
Couldn't agree more. We have wayyyy too many holes and only 6 picks next year to be spending a pick above a third on a RB. OL, QB, ILB, OLB, FS, WR, CB? Look at SD and Cleveland finding stud RBs in the UDFA pile. That's now you prove your mettle as a GM. Returns on first round running backs haven't been great anyway.
