    That sounds like Leon Hess.

It's just a god damn shame. We all deserve so much better. I'm amazed we have a fan base, i truly am. I honestly believe we have the greatest and most loyal fan base in football. I have justified every single one of our poor seasons...i'm sick of it. In my lifetime, i have seen the Giants reach the Super Bowl 4 times, we have reached none. Are you kidding me? Is this some cruel joke? Unfortunatley i have turned my son into a diehard Jet fan, he is only 6. I'm truly regretting it. We all know the untimely incidents...the Gastineau late hit....the rain storm in Miami forcing the Mud Bowl....Doug Brien...will we ever climb out of this? You know what's even worse? I've lost all hope. This team blows. We sit here and justify David Harris and Darelle Revis?????? Who are we kidding? We stink. Some of you will bash me that i am pessimistic...i'm realistic. Maybe it's the fact that i'm f'ing forced to watch Patriots-Giants but i have NEVER been so down on the Jets in my lifetime. Someone please talk me off the ledge!!!!!!!!!!!

While Woody has his faults, considering the other alternative was the Dolans, the day Woody bought the team will not be a day of regret for me. The last thing the Jets need was those clowns running this franchise.

Amen, you imagin the Dolans running the show? They'd probably hire Barry Sanders as the GM/Coach and let him make bonehead move after bonehead move then give him a contract extension.

I think Trump would be bad too, not because I doubt his competitive instincts, but because I would expect him to turn the Jets into the Trump Jets or the New York Trumps, neither of whom I would want to root for regardless of how well they did.

I mean to get unlucky twice with an owner. What are the odds on that? Woody IMHO is Hess clone reincarnated & it is really Hess dumping on us fans. (just kidding) What amazes me is all these board member who defend Woody even though he has given us fans NOTHING except raise prices. Just think he is now 0-8 in bringing us a CHAMPIONSHIP but yet the fans on this board say he is great. It is like they really do not care if the NYJs ever win a CHAMPIONSHIP

Well here I totally disagree with you since the TRUMP organization is known for bringing in the best & the brighest & for running a top of the line operation. If nothing else TRUMP knows how to run a business which is what the NYJs are

NFL Teams that have over bearing owners usually do not land the prominent coaches or they create an environment that either spurns that coach or makes them leave. Woody Johnson is definitely not that kind of overbearing owner! I think there?s not much he can do right now; to all of a sudden become completely involved with his team would create many problems and Id bet lead to a new coach coming in here. The current situation is you made your bed now sleep in it. Mangini is on the hot seat for this coming year and if things go wrong then the owner has the option to make that move if it becomes necessary. So ill go from there.

If I was the coach (acting on the scenario that we have another bad year) I would go after Bill Cower. This coach has the respect of players and other coaches; it does help that he has won a super bowl and always fields a great team. (He got fooled by a Quarter back too-Sees Kordel)

I would go after a prominent receiver and possibly at this time we would be in the market for another quarter back or be transitioning to a quarter back that we would have picked up the following year. (This is contingent on Chad failing again and Clemens being a bust) I would encourage the coaches to find a leader for our team that would be "The Man" and not dump everything off and hope the receivers can turn it into a big gainer. I would expect a former coach who had great defenses throughout the years to better be able to make the 3-4 work or at least be better able to identify the players needed to field a great defense. I would want an offensive coordinator that would take chances, stretch the field and be sneaky not predictable and not gimmicky. (The direct snap and option plays are good but if there done 10+ times during the season then that?s an indication that you got nothing going offensively) The run game would be where I would want my new coach to concentrate on. It is as it was since football began; the run sets up the pass. If you can?t run the ball it?s pretty easy to defend a team. There are people that still gush over Pennington but to me he should thank Curtis Martin for a great amount of his success. That brings me to my next issue that I would expect to be addressed. The running Back situation could be a tough spot. Thomas is a good running back and Leon is as well; but we need a Lamont type runner who is big and bruising. Leon Washington at this time will either be transitioning to be our full time starter or be leaving the team to find his fortune -he deserves it!

I would expect gains. To watch a `10-6 to go to a 4-12 with the same staff is a failure of epic proportions in my opinion. This out come would bring my wrath and you?d definitely hear about it in the news papers "Jets owner blows his top?. The hand off approach does not encourage a winning culture within an organization.
