If they win it won't mean a thing, if they lose you will hear plenty more about it. Don't forget Joe Willie half drunk on the beach guaranteeing a win..if they lost it would have been a whole different spin put on that.
no i get the point but thanks for your concern. listen, there is a reason the giants don't get destroyed by issues like this while the jets would. it's because the giants win superbowls and have a track record for winning. the jets don't win and haven't won in most of their fans lifetime. please get a clue on why teams/people get free passes, it's because they deliver, whether its the top producer on wall street, best lawyer in law firm, or the sports team that wins the trophy for that city. production gives everyone a short memory. losing makes you ask "what have you done for me lately", and the jets response to that is "NOTHING". i suggest to all jets fans, get over whatever it is that the giants do(other that winning) because they earned that respect.
While every thing you said there is true, it doesn't make it any less of a double standard because teams change over time. And no Cinderella run for the Giants this time. The Giants aren't a perennial contender or anything. On average they make the playoffs once every 5 years, almost never back to back. They just made the most of their opportunities in the last decade, which IMO was more like a fluke, especially in 11. Green Bay made them look like the team they really are, a joke.
except they just got blown out of the playoffs and they are getting shit over the boat party. especially ODB who had a terrible game including 3 "official drops" but i really counted 4. 2 of them would have been TDs and the other 2 were on 3rd down that would have kept drives alive.
realisticlly speaking. in the 2000s they made the playoffs about the same amount of times we did. they just made more of it getting 2 SB rings (and 1 SB loss) where we only made the AFC champ game twice and never a superbowl. but they are far from a good team every year. they are no patriots where they make the playoffs every year and win their division 95% of the time. they also made the playoffs 3 times with less then 10 wins (one year 8-8) and one of those years they won the SB. the jets have missed out on playoffs with 10 wins twice IIRC including last year. they have an easier division (no dominant team like the pats) and the NFC has been the weaker conference over the past 16 years by far
non point, if the Jets had a party on a boat prior to the playoffs it would be on the SS Titanic and they'd be lost at sea with the Skipper, Gilligan, The Movie star, the millionaire and his wife, the professor and Mary anne.... and the replacements would out perform and the actual players and the Jets would reach the Superbowl... ummm, where do I buy the team yacht tickets for Next January?
