You act as if he benched Peyton Manning in favor of Sanchez, it's not like we had the best options between Brunell, Tebow and Mclroy, what would you have done?
We had no other options that's known But you can't say the way he handled Mark was correct Fired 2 OCs, which makes it seem like its nothing wrong with Mark Failed to take pressure off of him by drafting impact players on O Continued to build on defense We traded up to get Mark with a team that needed a QB that tells you a lot Mark came from a school where he had crazy help it was known from jump he couldn't be the QB we want but as a game manager he's actually fine Rex treats him like he's a legit, elite NFL QB We all have to put things in perspective at this point Sanchez got ruined the moment they tried to make him into something he's not Sanchez the game manager>>>Sanchez trying to win games Lol at the ground and pound with no running back to carry the load and expose defenses, an O-Line not fit for the power scheme and the lack of WR/TE to fit the scheme
Um....no. and stop being a bunch of whiny bitches. They didn't let Geno throw. Rex called Geno's bad practice brutal, but doesn't say mean things about Sanchez... Blah blah fukin blah. Just stop. Geezus fukin Christ..........................
If Rex continues to get nothing from his offense in the next year or 2 he should be fired. He's earned the chance to fix that and if he does fix the offense we'll be a very hard team to beat. Seems like a troll thread to me. Over react much?
In hindsight? Have we played a game yet you are saying Rex should be fired before the season even starts because Sanchez is winning the QB competition? This Sanchez hate has really gotten out of hand.
A Jet coach with (for now) an overall winning record? This roster is a 'rebuild' still in progress from the "small time window/win now" teams of 2009 & 2010. The roster is currently still full of holes, lots of holes (OL, S, LB, RB, WR, & QB?). Let it play out this year and then with a more fully rebuilt roster in 2014 that won't have to go into the majority of games with a talent disadvantage THEN measure where this teams stands at the close of 2014 and from there decide what the long term decision on Rex is.
What is confusing is why so much gets read into what Rex says. He has done this before as a motivational tool ... Kerley, Coples, Bart, and others. He is not shy about calling someone out that he wants to motivate. Pretty sure the shots earlier this year about it not being acceptable turning the ball over was strictly aimed at Mark Sanchez, because Geno didn't have any picks at the time.
Yeah lets fire Rex, you people are clowns. Everyone wants to fire the coach but who are you going to replace him with? Seriously? Andy Reid? Umm Chip Kelly? Completely unproven No coach has ever won super bowls at multiple teams so dont give me Cowher and Gruden, plus it seems they arent coming back TBH. If you dont have a solid option to replace the coach then you dont fire him for going 50% afc championship games in 4 seasons. Rex brings something very important to the table, THE DEFENSE. Our defense has been great so despite how under talented our team was that is why we won 6 games and the Lions who are apparanently talent-loaded only won 4 games. If Rex could ever produce an average offense again the Jets will be right back in the playoffs. We dont even need a top 10 offense, just a top 20 and we are in the dance.
They don't get it, they think any QB can succeed in this offense despite having 0 play-makers, no run game, poor O-line play. I honestly just toss everything from last season into the trash bin, give Sanchez something then we will judge him, you can't judge a QB with that offense and an offensive coordinator who is pulling him after he makes a 30 yard pass.
Maybe I am overreacting. I just don't like the handling of this competition so far...as a DC he is great. As a HC, he still has work to do That's just me
Why because Geno got hurt in the game? Honestly up until that point everything was even as far as reps. So because Geno is gimpy, and the ankle is clearly affecting him in some way, Rex sucks as a HC. Got it.
I've been a supporter of Rex but I'm wavering now after watching how poorly he handled this past week of practice and the QB competition. You let Geno practice all week on a bad ankle, he does poorly, and now Sanchez gets another start and Geno may not even play???? Keep entitling Sanchez and he will keep making the same ridiculous mistakes over and over again.
Well get over it. Rex is a good HC.He has some flaws no doubt but thisQB competition has been handled just fine.
Not really hindsight - that would be after the season , but yes Rex should have been fired. Just like Rex as HC should not have had Schottenheimer forced on him as OC and should have had the ability to bring in his own guy, Idzik as GM should have had the ability to bring in his own guy.
