A bust, not the word I would use in describing him, I will say I expected a little more in the sack, quarterback pressure stats from him, maybe being in the middle is tieing him up and he can’t bust loose, maybe it is the scheme on defense. He didn’t help himself when before the year started he told the press he wanted to average a sack a game which means 16 was expected he fell way below that number.
I agree. I wouldn't call Williams a bust. In my opinion that's too harsh of a term. I would classify his play in the first three years as not living up to expectations. I would think with better defensive scheming and help from a more effective pass rushing OLB we would see better results. We can only hope.
people who think williams is anywhere close to a bust do not know a single thing about football or watch him play closely enough he was pretty incredible last year
You know what is kind of sad about this list is that I personally never though that much of Pryor. But every other single guy on that list I was really excited about and had confidence in. Milliner always looked like an absolutely incredible athlete to me. Hill burst on to the scene with TD catches and then basically never did anything else ever again after his first game. I remember Rex Ryan's interview after they drafted Coples how excited he was. How did all those guys fail so badly? Good grief.
He’s. Guy who can Start for 5-7 years and make a mild impact. He will Play most downs and is a good guy So For the rest of the nfl he’s a bust at 6 But for the Jets, he will Be ring of honor!!! Let that sad fact sink in.... Mark my words Ring of honor And we won’t win more than 10 games with him
Leo isn't a bust; he's just not the best player in his draft class, sure-fire perennial All-Pro he was touted to be, at least not yet.
Feel sorry for all our D-line as chasing a QB up the middle with zero edge rush in years must be the hardest thing - well unless other teams have a centre like ours lol
He’s the exact same player he was coming out.An above the rim type athlete that plays a position highly valued in a 3-4 scheme as a “2 way” threat out of a 5 technique. But he’s not a playmaker.Hes not gonna disengage blocks, beat a snap count,or make gamechanging plays very often. He’ll win his individual leverage battle in most cases & can keep the LBs clean but it ends there. Worth the #6 pick?A 3-4 DC will tell you He is But for a team that already had a surplus along the DL & desperately needed/needs impact players??Not so much
BS. Leo is an excellent player. Toilet uses him on the inside and therefore he's forced to endure being double teamed on every play. If toilet would use players in a spot allowing them to do what they do best, Leo would play at DE. The real problem here is we have a shithead as a HC.
stop, this post is 100% wrong. Williams is a INTERIOR lineman. He does not have the speed to play on the edge. The NT play and not having any edge pass rushers makes it very easy for teams to take him out.
Do you guys remember the hype surrounding Leo Williams pre draft??? He was considered all world and BEST PLAYER IN THE ENTIRE DRAFt...Mac the rookie GM knew he would look awfully stupid NOT taking him...Plus everyone on TGG was saying taking Leo was a "no brainer" so hindsight 20 20 here He is very good but tend to agree with Main and other posters here that Toilet Bowles has screwed him up played him wrong coached him wrong...in other words another Bowles toxic fallout besides Morton
He was the right pick. As for the DL was deep argument, where is it now? BPA is for making sure that you get talent without regard to what you have now because in the NFL nothing is certain 2 seasons down the line. The mistake was signing Wilkerson to the big deal instead of trading him for what we could get at the end of the standoff. Now we get nothing back for him.
flowers is a huge bust. he's been the worst LT in the league and benched a few times as well. they alro tried to move him to RT but he was awful there as well. he's barely hanging on to the NFL as this point
