This isn't buzz. This is like a chinese water torture with an acid drip and the Jets are getting it right between the eyes. I don't think this is sanctioned. If it is then I think Woody is a short-timer as owner in this town because the Jets are going to be 2nd-class citizens so fast it will make his head spin. The leaks and crap around the Jets the last couple of years is the kind of stuff that makes fans leave. Incompetent play is bad and causes problems but the reek of incompetent management and ownership sinks franchises.

They fired Mangini because they couldn't get a headline. They wanted a loud team that would create buzz and they got it at the right time when the seats went on sale. The team was mortgaged for it and the coach was giving the microphone for it. It's not so pretty when the team stinks. If the team was good nobody would care we would be talking about the playoffs.
Yeah but Fireman Ed quit this year. Nothing makes a sports team more toxic than controversial mediocrity. At a certain point the fans just say "enough already, win some games." Another year or two like the last two years and Woody will not be able to sell out the stadium and the merchandising will be poor also. Being bad is worse than being loudly mediocre but not by much.
I think the source is the NY Giants. They embedded a mole within the Jets organization. What better way to deflect your own teams crappy play than to dig up some dirt on the Jets and leak it to the media. Hmmm just a thought I had when waiting in line at the Pollo Tropical drive-thru
If we have a mole it is a Patriot mole. His job is not to make waves or de-stabilize the Jets, his job is to keep things just like they are in the AFC East.
Exactly why I am no longer a Mets fan, I can stomach the team sucking but when the ownership gets in the way of being successful it it is hard to support the team because you know there is no hope.
