I agree with this. I think its something that probably needs to be done, I can't stand the O playcalling. Shotgun formation on 3rd and short?! If your going to go for the big play, run a play action! God. But switching 7 games in is pretty tough. This was a mistake that was made in the pre-season.
To your last point, it is a stinging indictment of the coaching. Tying that point into you're point about a 30 year old QB lucky to be throwing a ball, have you seen how he is performing in Miami? I bought into the Chad noodle arm stuff too, but now it is crystal clear between Chad's performance under a real coaching staff and Favre's performance under Mandoofus where the problem is. The problem is NOT the QB, it is NOT the RB, it is NOT anyone else on the team, it is the coaching staff.

Mangini, being the young rookie head coach that he was should have had better and more importantly a more experienced O and D coordinators... Favre always threw 2 many piks, I was against bringing him here from the start... he's SHOT!
The level of stupidity around this board appalls me. 1. Who is crying for the return of Chad? I am not, if at all. I am very happy with Brett in green and white. 2. The point you are intentionally ignoring (and that's the important one) is that the current offensive system is basically limiting whatever the QB can achieve. It's not about Chad outplaying Brett - that just doesn't have a place here. That's where you show your cluelessness - it's not about Chad or Brett. It's about Brian Schottenheimer and Mangini. If you still don't get it: Last year, Chad looked miserable in this system. This year, Brett looks miserable too in that system. Is it just that all the QBs fall on their face when they come to Jets, but then start flying high as soon as they leave the Jet facility? How about the retarded growth of Kellen Clemens? Now we have three QBs looking absolutely horrible in Schottenheimer system. (Only Ratliff looked decent during the preseason - but then Brett looked spectacular during the preseason as well, so preseason performances do not hold any water.) Maybe, the system they are forced into just sucks. Either THREE QBs suck, or the system sucks. My hunch says it's the system that's flawed, and not the other way around. And THIS is the point. To reiterate, it is NOT about Chad NOR about Brett. It's about the stupid offensive "schemes" they are forced into, that made them look like shit.
