Wouldn't mind him. As Mavericknyc1980 said, he's pretty young and it would be a good addition for our offensive line

The Jets have inquired about free agent OL Shane Olivea.
The team has its new left guard (when Alan Faneca officially signs on the dotted line), and could use an upgrade at right tackle. Olivea is a NY native.

    beyah!!!!

    i got this off rotoworld

Olivea, 26, has been regarded by some league personnel evaluators as one of the NFL's most consistent right tackles, a position that has lacked quality leaguewide the past few seasons. Despite his low-round draft status, Olivea earned a starting job as a rookie in 2004 and started all 16 games that season.

Of course, this article is about how he's getting benched...

Olivea is a solid RT. The only reason he got cut was because of cap space. The Chargers had someone behind him who was talented as well but cheaper, so Olivea became a cap casualty. If he's available, we take him. Then our O-Line would be AMAZING.

Amazing is jumping the gun a bit. Faneca still has signed on the dotted line yet. But if he does and RT is upgraded, Moore is still an average player, and the depth on Oline sucks. The most important factor in the Oline is chemistry, so we don't know how long it will take for all the new faces to gel.

With that being said upgrading the LG and RT would be HUGE additions and 100x better than what they had last year.

This would be huge for the Oline IMO. Lets get Faneca signed first though.

Hey rillo, I know you were against the Vilma trade. But with the updated facts about the Jets compensation, how do you feel about it now? A 4th this year, and a possible upgrade to a 2nd year? Pretty good I'd say.
