NFL Network didn't show any of the bad calls or even make mention of them... I guess they got their marching orders from Goodell
And many of them are small-market teams run by owners who are on the Competition or TV committees and close to Goodell, like Bowlen.
What a freakin win. We're better than you, we don't give a damn if you know it or not. 5-1.... and the home of the... JETS! newyorksportszone.com/2010/10/17/week-6-football-final
Leonhard's hit was more than legal. Perhaps the refs should have given him their purses to hit the guy with. Maybe that would have been legal??? The ref were the worst I have seen in years. Refs should not be deciding games or calling games so one sided. I hope the JETS bring this up to the main office. Two offensive pass interference calls in a row? Absurd.
Another Jet hating effort by the zebras in effect. That roughting the passer was brutal. Refs giving Cincy gift after gift
so what is a clean tackle/hit these days? 44's (dont feel like spelling his name), and Drew Coleman's hit at the goal line both seemed to be clean
The NFL is becoming the most insane league ever. I cannot believe the calls that are being made, they are trying to change the nature of the game.
That's the problem with the NFL's mixed messaging--the refs don't know what's legal any better than the players do anymore. Terrible officiating tonight.
I refuse to believe the Jets block in the back nearly as much as the refs think we do. And the Bungles never block in the back or hold?
that block in the back was pretty clear, could clearly see Cromartie doing it in the middle of the field
Its on the rules committee. The refs get new rules to enforce every year, and its inconsistent. I blame the rules committee for Digs' penalty. The rules committee has to have the same rule for at least 5 years in a row and not change them each year and in the middle of a fucking season.
Two of those personal fouls were BS, and it seems like we get one or two just bad calls of a personal foul variety EVERY GAME! Either way it hasn't cost us games (save the Ravens when it was really really bad), and may just be a small byproduct of the aggressive nature of this team. Which is ok, except for when the penalties (however ticky tacky they may be) reverse a turnover on downs and spot the ball at the 10 yard line.
I was watching in a sports bar without sound--what the hell was the call on Coleman? None of us could remotely understand how a clear shoulder-to-shoulder hit drew a personal foul. And I didn't realize Carson Palmer was getting the Peyton Manning treatment--get hit, give the official a look, and get 15 yards. I'm not saying, I'm just saying. Jets: 8 penalties, 64 yards Bengals: 2 penalties, 15 yards. The fact that any team could go through an NFL game and get called for 2 penalties is mind-boggling.
there were bad calls against the Jets, a pretty close call that went the Jets way on Ocho's non-TD, and a block in the back on Smiths KO return that wasn't called. it all evened out in the end.
Digs blocked in the back at the very tail end of Smith's return. I was so sure it was going to get called.
That block in the back I believe was by Idiggybobo too. I saw that and figured the refs saw it and just trying level out the call. Btw, nice "Major" face-mask penalty. Two of them. There's only one kind of face mask now, and that's been around for 5 years at least. I really liked the fact that the refs were going to decline one of them...
Hitting a defenseless receiver, but I'm not gonna bitch too much the Bengals got some questionable calls against them too.
besides illegal block in the back the other re occuring theme in jet games is 3rd downs. how many times do the jets convert a 3rd down only for it to be called back by a penalty? i think i read a stat that the jets are 1st in the NFL in 1st downs called back by penalty. we also do it on defense. 3rd down stops turn into penalties. that roughing the passer, lmao. and how about the hit by drew coleman?
