Haha yeah that seems pretty much spot on. Cause from what I can tell it's a constant cycle of sucking ass followed by one or 2 good years then back to sucking. Woody is the main culprit. He dosent know dick about football and is to concerned with what the media thinks to go through with a full rebuild so it's just a constant influx of veterans past their prime with no foundation( has been said many times before by almost everyone)
If the do not overpay Geno that may not be such a bad move. We need to rebuild our team and blowing our high pick to reach for a QB is the wrong way to do it. We would also save cap add space for next year by ignoring overhyped veterans and riding with what we have now. I fo not mind sucking next year if we build this team the right way.
Honest opinion, they have to sign a QB to compete with Petty/Hack for the starting job in 2017. Nothing should be handed to anybody at this point. A guy like Geno that needs a chance, or fresh start, would be the ideal candidate - but there's no way that can be Smith. There's just too much baggage at this point that he needs to move on, for both sides...
That's not saying much. He's still terrible. Maybe that's why I'm OK with him gone. Not sure how many chances he needs, for the geno fanboys to finally understand. He's not well received by the team either, so I'm confused where all this love comes from. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
There's NEVER enough baggage for us. Woody just loves baggage. He buys tons of it and heaps it all over the place. He thinks he can handle anything, the dopey ass Like somebody else said, 'expect Geno back to be the starter, It's what we do'.
Nice response. Good points. If the Jets get their own field of dreams stadium I'll move back to the Island. LOL
Francesa seems to think Mac drafted Petty to be the Jets franchise backup qb.To have continuity at the backup spot which makes sense.
i wouldn't ay its official and i wouldn't say he sucks. he looks just like a 4th rd qb from an air raid offense though so he is probably not the answer
I dont think he was drafted to be the answer.Which means we wasted a pick on a project backup with no value.
Most mid-round QBs amount to nothing if you look back at some past drafts....most mid round players don't turn out to be good NFL players for that matter Just sucks we can never be that team that strikes gold
How can some make a seriously definitive "He's not the answer" about a young QB (who everyone already knew was a "project") starting a few games on a shitty team....... and looked like a rookie QB on a shitty team, not to mention getting absolutely crushed vs Miami, then hurt again trying to play defense?
Watch this play. Did our line do this on purpose???? They never move even with pas rusher running right by them. I know they got the snap count wrong (supposedly) but even when a defender jumps offsides the lineman stands up to start blocking him. Not one lineman budged while 5 defenders ran past them, Wake and Suh getting to Petty first. Really looks intentional on our part.
I'm so sick of the "project" label. How many fucking project QBs do they need? 50-75% of the QBs on the roster are projects at this point, and the last one that isn't is a broken project, that's about to be shit-canned. Fitz did some good things for this team, and I liked his gritty attitude last year. Once he held out for big money, I lost any respect for him. He shit the bed when we needed him most, so what do we do...draft yet another project QB, and give Fitz big money. This organization is the very definition of shit sandwich.
Tom Brady, Russel Wilson, Trevor Simian (sp?), Dak Prescott, Kirk Cousins, Colin Kaepernick, are all third round or later. i don't think Broco Osweiller was a first rounder. Carr and Drew Breese were round 2.
