We could have had Mettenberg or any number of other good mid to late round picks...the Jets just blew the draft after the 3rd round.....they got lazy with all the picks.
I wanted them to get a receiver, particularly Benjamin, in the 1st round desperately. This offense looks so much better with him and a healthy Decker as your top 2 and Kerley as your third. Idzik basically picked scrub receivers who really had no chance of doing anything this season.
Holy shit. We're stashing draft picks on the PS so we can sign total scrubs to address our dire needs and other teams are stealing them.
I definitely can't disagree. I was totally wrong about Benjamin, the guy is shaping up to be a beast.
We drafted 2 WR's in the 4th round and they both have contributed nothing to the team. At a position of need, a bad pick was the last thing we could have afforded (including the CB position).
This is why I was so on-board with a receiver in RD1, didn't care if it were Cooks, Matthews, or Lee. Benjamin looks REALLY good right now so I will def eat crow on that selection. I would have taken Matthews at 18 easily then get Amaro in rd2 going back to pre-draft. It's frustrating missing on receiver talent YEAR after YEAR.
TJ Graham is a bum period! Fast guy with no hands.........always body catches. I wasn't sad to see him go.........Nelson I wish we would've kept........Graham.......no thanks.
Basically.......just a shorter version. Once we drafted Goodwin, TJ Graham was no longer needed. If you have the ALL22 watch the Bills vs Patriots week#17 game..........that game spelled the end of the TJ Graham era in Buffalo......coaches soured on him and his hands.
Doesn't Amaro qualify as a receiving threat? Could we have done more? Of course. But it's not like we came out of that draft with nothing. And besides that it's too soon to judge our draft picks. Hopefully with a year under their belt maybe one of Saunders, Evans, or Enuwa will emerge.
I hate to say I told you so but Idzik's 2014 draft class is getting exposed. The only pick I'm liking right now is Amaro and maybe Pryor if he could learn how to cover a paper bag. That's not good enough with 12 picks.
We cut a 4th round bust to pick up a 3rd round bust (TJ Graham.) We're trading up! Actually I have no problem cycling through these type of guys. Salas looks serviceable and maybe Graham can do better here.
Give it some time. Dozier, Reilly, McDougle and Evans could still end up being good players in addition to Amaro and Pryor. And I'm not being a sunshiner because I am actually pissed of due to teh front office debacle of the offseason. But there are still plenty of chances to have serviceable players.
Bad draft pick or not at least this regime has the balls to cut bait with a player regardless of where he was drafted and by whom. As stated before better to get rid of em early than to take a roster spot away from a possible contributor for the rest of the year.
Always amazes me that the people that hate to say "I told you so" are always the first ones to do it.
Well we are scraping the bottom of the barrel here, so of course he's not a world beater and the Jets aren't paying him like he is. So keep that in mind. All they are doing is taking a chance on him. I'm not expecting much but he's replacing someone who didn't do anything but contribute in a negative way. He's better than Stephen Hill. He can play special teams and he can run routes like a real receiver. I don't think his hands are as bad as you make them out to be. It's Buffalo fans M.O. to trash anyone who ever leaves that organization so I am going to take your comments with a grain of salt.
