For me it's the fact that Saunders was the highest rated WR on our draft board into the fourth round. He's probably the highest draft pick cut by Idzik's draft regime (Hill was obviously a Tanny pick). That's what gets me
I wasn't stating hill deserved a spot over Saunders, but over nelson. Both didn't play special teams, but I would have gambled with another year of hill over nelson. Saunders while unknown, could have benefited from practice time stashed on the PS. I would have been ok with "Mr. Fair Catch" Kerley handling punts, K. Wilson, Salim or even Salas back there.
I don't think it's just the fact that we got rid of them but i was impressed by the fact we got so much for Revis. We robbed the Bucs
Scouting dept. has to be held accountable. And who heads up that scouting dept? Yes, TFB! The Jets are like a pyramid scheme.
if he didnt knew how to find value late in the draft at least get me a blue chip first rounder or 2 first round picks over the whole crap draft he did.
Absolutely true. At some point he has to be apart of the problem. This team simply cannot draft offensive skill players. They avoid it every chance they get & when they are forced to they seem to whiff horribly.
Have you noticed that Woody doesn't really look too much at resumes but instead, follows his instinct. Woody is always trying to find that untapped talent. The one guy no one else in the NFL universe could see was a diamond in the rough. Woody hasn't gone after anybody with a iron clad NFL legacy since Parcells said no. I wonder if that still burns his ego. Every hire since has been out of the blue kinda of guys. Even when he hired Rex, he ignored the fact that several other teams always went in a different direction. That's the problem. Woody's hires that never did the job they were hired to do. Always OJT. Prior experience still counts. Perhaps not as much as it used to, but in a market like NY, it counts.
I agree that there is a problem with identifying talent, but the only thing worst then making a bad pick is to compound the problem by holding on to a guy that is not good. The issue here is not that they are cutting their losses, but they are doing a bad job of evaluating talent.
Laugh away dude, you were the one that was wrong... glad to know you still care about me though... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was the one that was wrong about what? you were the retard telling us how awesome Stephen fuckin Hill was for months. but I was the one who was wrong. holy delusional fan batman. Stephen Hill was cut and is now on the Panthers practice squad in case you missed the news.
Moncrief or Saunders...Saunders it was. Could have moved up to grab a better receiver instead of drafting Evans and saunders
Meh, he can sit and learn. Nobody seems to mind Aboushi sitting and learning. By all means ask why we didn't spend a higher draft pick on a WR (#2 or #3 would have been better) but I'm not too bothered by a 4th round pick not being a success by Week 4 of the season.
