He was drafted 21 overall just 3 years ago. In a zone blocking system he would dominate (I heard we will run the zone). I think he's worth trading a 3rd and Thomas. Figure we drop cap on a played who is basically a back up for a guy who will be our starting center. Also figure if we don't get Faine who would we draft with our 3rd..... that's right probably a center. I think this trade is possible and fair. They won't give up a former 1st rounder for a 3rd, you need more than that and as you can tell I really want this guy.
If we could get Faine for a 2nd day pick I'd cool with it, but I wouldn't give up two picks, or any first-day pick. Way I see it, Kendall will be our center for the next 2-3 years, and he's got the tools to do the job. No point running out and spending valuable draft picks to get a center, which isn't exactly the toughest position to fill. OTOH, if we can get Faine for a 5th, that's worth it, but I doubt that his price is that low.
why? So we only have one DE then?? Glad you aren't affiliated with the team and it's decision makers... we'd be in a lot of trouble with rash decisions like this... trading away a pick and a player for a player who is undersized for the offense we'll be running... like the Guiness commercial says... BRILLIANT!!!... then everyone runs from you because of the stinky cheese. Ellis
