What game were you watching?? Holmes dropped two or three passes, one of which was arguably the BIGGEST drop of the game - the crossing route later in the game. Anyone who was there will tell you that play was easily going for a TD. Once he got to the corner there was NO ONE else for him to beat. And you're calling for Cotchery to shine the pine??? You Canucks should stick to hockey.
All signs point to make Dustin Stellar our primary option. Once the opposing teams have to deal with him our receivers will be open, and I think Rex might put double sided tape all over them.
I must say, everytime I see this thread title I lol I love this nickname. I jus hope I never have to use it again
Cotchery is allowed to have a bad game, he always comes up big always, he'll get his shit together Keller needs to be the #1 option on this offense
For a guy who never drops passes he fucking suprised me yesterday. I don't ever want to see a dog shit game like that from J-Co again. Moving on.
That game was uncharacteristic for Cotchery, who had the least number of drops in the entire league a couple of years ago. I wouldn't be surprised to find out he had injured or dislocated a finger. J-Co may not rack up the stats, but he is clutch in 3rd down situations and big game situations. J-Co did have a bad game yesterday, for whatever reason, but he has been a very good player for the Jets and also a consummate professional. If anyone has earned a pass for a game like that, it's Jerricho Cotchery.
You're right, he played his decoy role magnificently. There were a couple times where he looked uncannily like a wooden duck out there.
oh man....Schotty should've benched him in the 4th quarter yesterday. I do agree that Cotch has been clutch during his Jets tenure, and deserves a pass. But he had some key drops on drives that could've ended up resulting in points or even winning us the game. I know Holmes did too...but Cotch was doing it on late 4th quarter drives. Having said that, I hope Cotch comes back with a vengeance against Detroit next Sunday......good players know how to respond to adversity. I would expect nothing less from him.
You know that's just a case of hindsight being 20-20. Cotch probably has the most reliable hands on the team, you don't expect him to drop passes like that ever. I don't blame the coaches for having him out there.
I'm more concerned about Holmes putting the ball on the ground all the time, whether by fumbling or dropping the ball. His knock in Pitt was that he dropped passes, and he's certainly living up to that rep. Who would have thought Braylon Edwards would be our receiver with the most reliable hands this year?
Prime example of how our players are not a cohesive unit, that they were bothered by having Hard Knocks on site and that Joe Namath was an unfavorable influence.
