    Am I crazy...

...or did we used to have a defense? I distinctly recall having one of those at one point.

Seriously, this is ridiculously easy. All the opposing QB has to do on 3rd down is find #30 or #26 and throw at whoever he's covering because he will invariably be wide open. Fucking Coleman and Laury suck.

Well right now our D has been strung out and spanked. They BETTER make the adjustments....

All I want for Christmas is a new OC next year. I'd like to see Sanchez in Callahan's version of the WCO.

EDIT: Siiiick call on the bootleg tho.

Didn't know Shotty had it in him. Great play call!

Yeah. Pretty shocking that Schotty made a good call for once.

I think that Sanchez TD on the bootleg fake will be the turning point the team was looking for.

Now that 800lb gorilla has left the room and the TD curse has been broken.

Back to the defense...seems most teams have figured out that you go max protect to negate the blitz and pick on the safeties and linebackers (and nickel corner on 3rd down) to beat our D. Then use the pass to set up the run. Need to make some kind of adjustment. Maybe fake the blitz more often and play man under.

Not much you can do about it if the linemen/backers can't get at the qb. If a qb has 5+ seconds in the pocket someone will get open even if you have 4 revis' out there.

That's true, but it also works the other way. There have been plenty of times when the opposing QB doesn't need 5 seconds to find a wide open TE or slot guy because Coleman and Laury couldn't cover my grandmother.

I dunno. I think the lack of passrush is as simple as: our passrushers aren't good enough. JT hasn't been good, BT has shown flashes of why he was 1st rounder but hasn't been doing it consistently (story of his career), and Pace has shown potential lingering effects of the foot injury. Also, no good backup DEs to rotate in with Ellis and DeVito. Remember Pitotua? He was primed to make an impact, I was choked when he went down and we could really have used his presence to eat up blockers. Also, we have Ellis and Pryce lining up at DT in nickel and dime situations. I think we really need a couple younger, more explosive 3-tech DTs for those situations as those guys have clearly lost a step or three in the passrush area.

Also, keep in mind that Pouha doesn't draw double and triple teams like Jenkins did. Other than that, I agree. There isn't really an effective pass rusher on this team.

My point is that the Jets pass D is supposed to be a lot better than they've shown. With Revis and Cro they essentially take away the outside of the field, but if the nickel guy and the LBs can't handle the TEs and slot receivers, and we can't get to the QB, we're going to get picked apart.

OK, why are we blitzing two corners on the same side on 3rd and 19?

Needed to take off more time on that drive. Time for the D to shine.
