Yup...that’s EXACTLY how I felt....during the first three quarters I felt like the Pats were just not going to be able to catch up...and it was good to see real NFL receivers out there compared to the backups and #4,#5,& #6 guys we’ve been rolling with most of the year.

not sure exactly why we can’t do shit in the second halves of games...maybe it’s our coaches’ inability to react to the other teams adjustments, but it’s troubling.

however, with as bad as Jacksonville is, and I don’t see another win on their schedule, I was happy to see us crumble at the end.

normally I’m pissed off but last night was a fun game and I’m not at all frustrated. Good to see Hou and Giants get a win, talkathon as a two team race

I think he was on the team because he outplayed most of them in TC and even then Gase was looking to get rid of him to keep Fales, in the end we seemed to keep all of them.

    ps

the videos were there and worked for me lol

People realize that we purposely tanked that game right? There was no lack of second half adjustments this week. In fact, we did make second half adjustments - to lose. Everything we did after the first possession of the second half was to lose and the patriots were so bad we had to spoon feed them.

Or maybe we just happened to have too many men on the field during their FG. And of course Mr. Conservative always calls a 50 yard bomb with 6 minutes left and a 7 point lead. While trying to run out the clock we get a second and two and call two long developing pass plays, including stopping the clock on 3rd down which allowed the pats the win. That was a total tank job by the coaching staff.

He is not a Gase guy rather he beat out the Gase guy this year in TC. He was drafted in the same draft as Sam by the Cowboys in the 5th round. Many posters here really liked him prior to the draft. The Cowboys cut him in 2019 at the end of TC and the Jets picked him up. He is likely much more ready to play right now than Morgan.

There is real problem with coaching, and adjustments both sides of the ball. More on offense.

Jacksonville has been in almost every one of their games. They are competitive, think like the jets were yesterday. So they have better chance of winning than the jets quite honesty. Quite frankly they are better coached.

Going 0-16 is not likely for any team, in any year. I am not sure why so fixated on that. I saw the odds to be like 50% at this point. But since 16 game season instituted, only 2 teams did 0-16, only 1 team 16-0. It is just not common, and if jets continue to play like last night they will win 1 game at least!

We haven’t made second half adjustments in any game this year. That’s main reason 0-9, incompetent coaching! No team tanks on purpose in NFL!

Gase is a bad coach and OC but he is not totally stupid. In fact, he is overly conservative, even when we are losing by multiple scores. When you are trying to run out the clock and have 2nd and two against a horrible run defense you don't call two long crossing passes. That is purposely trying to lose. We saw Gase win 7 games against mostly crummy teams last season. He knows how to put a game away against crummy teams. We went out of our way to make sure the patriots had a chance the entire 4th quarter.

I know not many may be following the Jags so here is some good news for the tank crowd. The Jags started a rookie QB, Jake Luton, who looked like a stud in his first start. Here are his numbers:

26/38 for 304 yards with a TD and Int.

He is a guy they will rally around and he shows the potential to make some big plays. They will likely win another game or two this season.

There's no point in getting worked up because he's playing veterans, imo. Yes, in a normal situation, the rookies should be playing, not veterans, trying to develop the rookies and see who can help us going forward, but as we know, this situation is anything but normal. Gase is trying to win games to salvage his job, if not his career. He doesn't care about playing rookies or developing rookies. Even if he knows he's going to be back next year, he doesn't want to be 0-16. I don't like it, but I get it.

I feel this way sometimes as well...like, we can’t REALLY be THIS bad, right? The 12 men on a FG ...like when does THAT ever happen? The play calling....

That’s not trying to lose, that is incompetence from the offensive genius.

I actually can't believe how calmly I'm taking it. I guess a fatal resignation has taken hold of me regarding Gase and how he does things. It's just not worth getting upset or angry over. Plus, I need every bit of energy to get all these boxes opened and things put away! LOL

Sadly, I don't think it was intentional. I think the CS (mostly Gase and Williams) are just that incompetent and/or not paying attention

honestly that game was perfect for me. we fought, put up a good back and forth game. the rookies looked good. our WRs when healthy aren't that bad. will be nice to replace perriman with juju/galladay/robinson maybe gallup. throw in a high pick rookie as well keep crowder and we can have a solid top 4 guys.

I like that WR core. Maybe a new coach will be able to resurrect Herndon.

Well if Perriman can stay healthy and play like that he’d be worth keeping....trouble is, he hasn’t been able to stay healthy

but yeah...last night was SO different than what we’ve had so far with the likes of Berrios, Jeff Smith, V Smith, Jeff Malone, etc. one or two of those kind of guys as the #5 or #6 you can live with..,,when those guys are starters you have no shot

we’ve had a lot of these fringe type WRs over the years, where they look nice in preseason games or spot duty, but then don’t play like that in real games ... can’t name specifics off the top of my head, but it seems like every year we have a few guys that fit that bill...
